Our 489 took approximately 8 months. We are a family of five though so that may have elongated the process. Other 489s did seem to come through a lot quicker than ours.

Hi @sairam
I'm not sure what the occupation ID is for that but here's a link showing the occupation ceilings.

Hi @chrischatt
We approached a medical practitioner called Dr Martha Baz. She provided a comprehensive pre-visa assessment of our situation so that we could have an idea of whether or not it was worth going ahead. Obviously, there is a fee but we felt that it was money well spent, given the alternative. She was really helpful.
I'm assuming that it's ok to post a link. http://www.visamedic.com/index.htm
I hope that all goes well for you!

Thanks also Quoll and Verystormy. It's great to have as much advice as possible. We'll definitely look into the people mentioned....need to bite the bullet then!!

Sounds amazing. The whole process seems really daunting at the moment so it's great to hear such a positive outcome! Thanks again for the information.

Thanks Nemesis. Will look into them. Assuming that they do the whole application, any idea on fees please? I'm just trying to gauge if it's even a possibility to go down that route before approaching an agent!

Hi all. Can anyone recommend a migration agent who has experience of dealing with health issues please? Also, does anyone have a ballpark figure for agent fees? Thanks.

My understanding is that you can work in any field as long as you fulfil the minimum numbers of hours (35 per week). HTH!
