  1. Hey Nik,

Sorry to bother you again but can you let me know the requirements you submitted?

    1. CV

    2. Form 80

    3. Transcripts, diplomas

    4. Health insurance certificate (did you submit the health insurance template?)

    5. Health check

    Anything else I missed?

    No problem!

    I submitted:

Degree certificate- I also attached a certified copy, I wasn't sure if a normal copy was ok.

    Degree transcript

    Post grad course transcript

Birth certificate- must be sent in colour

    CV

IELTS- you don't need IELTS if you are from uk but I just did it as it was easier than gathering all my school certificates)

Job offer- I attached the letter of offer sent by my employer

Registration document- as I am a registered nurse I attached proof of my Australian licence. I'm not sure if you would have to do a skills assessment in other professions.

Health insurance letter- so if you arrange your health insurance you have to tell them it's specifically for a 457 visa and they should have a template that they will email to you. I went with Bupa. Very helpful!

    Passport ID page- in colour

    Work references- last 5 years

International police check report- I used fit2work for this as I needed it for my nursing registration. Double check if you need a police report- i read in other posts it was being requested so I just attached it to save being held up.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Thanks so much! Can I set up an immi account now? I'm in the office but the documents are at home. Do you think I can just submit the docs tomorrow ?

Yeah you can set it up now! You have time to upload your documents so don't panic. They don't look at your application for ages really but you don't want to be caught out if they try to process quickly!

  3. Do I need to create a new immi account??

    Hey!

Yes you need to create a new immi, your sponsor has a separate one that you can not see.

Use your TRN number to set it up!

Make sure you have organised all the documents you need to upload as some may take some time to get.

Fill out your application and when happy submit. You can save the application and go back to it later if you want to submit right away. You will be asked to pay for your visa at the point of submitting the application.

Once your application is received you can start uploading your documents.

Also on the left hand side there will be a tab for health assessments, click on that and print off the generated referral letter for your medical, this will have the HAP ID on it which is used by the hospital/immi to electronically submit/view your results.

After all this it's a waiting game....

    Good luck!

  4. Hi Chowder,

How to email the IMMI? Through the "contact us" in IMMI account and provide with case reference number?

    Hi Ricky,

If the 457 email doesn't get you anywhere try this one- Immi.Account.technical.Services@border.gov.au

Someone emailed me from the 457 email account and told me to forward my query to the above email.

  5. No idea! It seems there can be lots of different factors.

How come you left such a long time between nomination approval and putting in the visa application? The waiting period would probably only count from when you submitted the visa but atleast your nomination has been approved. Next step should be grant, it just depends where in the queue it is or who's desk it ends up on?

I've been quite unlucky with my timeframes unfortunately so id hate to get someone's hopes up when I know how it feels to wait a very long time.

Try to prepare yourself for a wait just incase.

Been 16 weeks and still no word on my nomination (after 9 weeks wait employer was asked for further info) still waiting [emoji20]

I had to wait for my AHPRA (nurse) registration to come through before submitting my visa application, that took 6 months! I had to attach my AHPRA registration in principle letter as proof of my skill.

Oh no you have waited so long, hopefully your nomination and visa will be granted at the same time. Fingers crossed for you!

  6. Hi,

i'm not too sure about the exact documents you need in what colour or to be certified but I had to get my documents certified by a notary public through my solicitor. The documents I got certified were: degree certificate, degree transcript, passport, IELTS, drivers licence. I haven't got a case officer on my visa yet so not sure if they want more documents certified. I uploaded my references and birth certificate in colour.

    Hope this helps!

  7. I flew with China southern to and from the phillipines last year. Plane food was lovely, staff friendly and helpful, no delays on flights.

I did have a 13 stop over in China but found out the day before through their website that if your connecting flight is over 8 hours (double check this on the exact hours), they would put you up for free in a hotel. I wasn't convinced this would happen but it did, I got put up in 4* hotel which was massive! They also transferred me to and from the hotel all at no extra cost.

would definitely book with them again!

  8. Hi Nikki,

I'm not using an MA too. Lodgment done on 14JUL (SYDNEY, NSW).

It also says no further action required for Medical.

Current status still showing received.... Hoping and praying it will come out soon.

Really frustrating waiting for some action!

Fingers crossed they don't ask for further information. I emailed the 457 address last night and the automated response With current processing times said it take up to 50 working days to be allocated a CO before the advised 8 weeks processing time.

i lodged my application from the UK, hope that doesn't delay it.

  9. Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a recent timeline?

I submitted my 457 visa application on the 29th July and the medical showed no further action required on the 17th August.

I didn't use a MA, hoping I have given all the information they need!

It's showing on immi as received so I'm guessing they haven't even looked at it yet.

  10. So... Silly question...

I'll be moving to Melbourne in the next 8 weeks and will find accommodation when I get there.

I was planning on taking a few suitcases but the cost of that is huge! £100 per bag on Etihad flights

Are you able to ship boxes off without an address at the other side? So I could post some of my belongings and then pick them up when i'm in Melbourne from an office or a warehouse?

    Nikki

  11. Thanks xxlornaxx, I actually just managed figure out some of it.

Incase anyone else needs info this was my step by step to where I'm at:

    * Create ImmiAccount

    * Start 457 visa application from 457 visa page

    * 457 visa application ready to submit

    * Contacted health insurance company and set up medical cover satisfactory for 457 visa (I went with Bupa)

    * Health Insurance company emailed me certification letter (this must be submitted with application)

Im now gathering other documents needed to go with my application.

Does anyone know if I need to enrol with medicare first?

  12. Hi,

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place or doing it wrong all together...

I am a registered nurse in the uk and this morning received my AHPRA.

My sponsor employer already nominated me for the 457 visa but now I'm not too sure what to do next.

Also does anyone know if I need a separate skills assessment or does having my AHPRA sort of cancel that out?

Very confused. Would rather not go through a migration agency as I can't afford the extra cost.

    Any help would be great!

    Nikki
