Now another long wait no doubt

I am in 23th month running. Applied on oct 2016. RCB approved same time. CO allocated for my application at 21st may2018. CO asked for medical for me and my partner and now its stuck in initial assessment. No news yet. 187 DE chef, qld. Hope they give decision quick for us quick. Its mentally torturing waiting for unknown hope.
I just submitted my police checks today, now my application says further assessment. Anyone knows how that’s different to initial assessment? Has your nomination been approved? Hope it isn’t too much longer for us.

when ur file is open and after how many days they approve ur nomination
They opened and approved my nomination on the same day I think. They just called my employer to check a couple things then my agent called within an hour to say it had been approved

Which occupation and which stream of 187 please?
Hairdresser, DE. I’ve been waiting 22 months. So was deffinately a relief to get the nomination approved as that seems the trickiest part atm.

So immi called my employer today, requested most recent financials. She emailed them back within minutes. And got APPROVED within 2 hours. May I add I had sent the recent financials to my agent 4 weeks ago, yet she never uploaded them.... now to just wait again until they start on my visa application.

Hey everybody,
I have been reading this thread for a long time now and thought I could add my own stone to that big wall of waiting.
I've applied for a 187 as restaurant manager on the 5th of August 2016, my nomination was approved almost instantly but my visa has not been processed since then. I reached the 18 months of waiting time some days ago and it feels really desperate at times.
I lodged my application in WA, I have been working at that place since July 2016, and have been hoping for an answer from the immigration since March 2017.
It helps somehow to know I am not the only one in this situation, but it also frustates me to have been in that position for so long now.
So good luck to everybody here, waiting as well.
If I had to think of one lesson taught through that process, that would be to stay patient for what you are longing for.
I've also been waiting since aug 16! Haven't heard a thing. Such a long wait, but that's ment to be will be...

Thanks Libby. Jesus I can't really remember as I've sent it all to my agent couple months back but had to wait ages for the date off my skills assessment. I had to provide all my qualifications, letters from previous employers, my accounts from the previous 5 years that I was self employed, tax documents, my CV, passport (a copy), birth certificate, photos of me doing a perm, outline shave, colours, Mens cuts. Why did yours fail last time? It's so stressful isn't it! X

Hi girls. thanks for this forum, just spent like 30 mins reading through it all and writing all the questions down, so its helped me a lot to prepare. I have 2nd stage technical interview on the 13th, so just under 2 weeks. im honestly shitting myself! I have 8 years experience and aswell like most of you have never done chemically straightening or an outline shave. its ridiculous half the questions they ask you are the silly ones you learn at college and then never use again day to day in a salon! im currently in Perth but from Norwich applying for the 187 visa. just need to pass this technical interview so I can get it lodged! If anyone has recently took the technical and have anymore tips, or different questions tjey were asked would be muchly appreciated
