  1. Many thanks aussiepr

i will try to find out other options. Life will go on

That is devastating... i just checked ur very first post. U said there ur HR asked u not to apply for visa until nomination approved. Looks like they sort of knew nomination might get rejected. There is certainly something wrong with their paperwork that caused ur rejection. I sort of understand how it feels like. Disappointment wont give u anything.

Try to find out other options u have

  2. Many thanks, Thakur

I heard different versions, some say as the nomination and 187 visa were processed by different group. When i submitted my 187 visa application (8 June 2016), i am atucaly in the waiting list again, this mean i will need to wait for another 6 months for the visa to be approved. That would be disaster....As from the start, the HR insisted i should get the nomination approved and then apply for visa. But later around May this year, i was told i can apply visa after the nomination was lodged...

However, some say the immigration might process both at the same time and granted both. I more like this....

I have no idea what will happen, but to wait... it is killing me...I can't wait for another 6 month.

Good you might get visa and nomination together then

  3. No, as the HR would not allow MA to do the nomination.

The MA then suggested in this case, i can apply the 187 visa directly, no need to pay another 2000aud, as they will do the same as what i do

So you didn't go thorough MA ?

  4. Hi Guys

I just received email from HR said the immigration contracted her regarding my nomination (submitted on 20 Nov 2015). Hopefully i will have news soon....

I submitted the 187 visa on 8 June 2016, not sure whether they will approve both at the same time?

    WAITING.....

  5. Hi Shanthsuren

for your first question, according to the requirement of immi web, to be eligible for the visa, as listed

have been nominated by an approved Australian employer for a job in regional Australia (regional Australia does not include the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong or Melbourne)

are younger than 50 years of age, unless you are exempt

meet the skills, qualifications and English language requirements, unless you are exempt

apply under the stream for which you were nominated.

    For second question,

you don't need to complete skill assessment, the company need to give you at least two year full time contract and nominate you for 187 visa.

    Hi Guys,

I have been following this thread for some time.

I was from India, worked in UK for my company for about 4 years which is an Australian based company.

They have requested me to take over a role in Australia as a Material Scientist.

I came along with my husband on 457 visa few weeks ago, then I found out that I am pregnant.

There is no parental pay or childcare benefits for 457 visa holders.

I did some research, and hopefully I can able to apply for 187 visa through direct entry.

I spoke to my HR and she is happy to sponsor if I am eligible for direct entry scheme.

I worked for this company for 4 years and 8 months in total.

When I completed masters degree, I joined my company and worked my way up from Research technician, chemical process Engineer and now Material scientist. I almost doing the same kind of job though my job titles were different.

    My questions are,

    1. Will I be eligible for direct entry scheme as I have more than 3 years for relevant experience after my post qualification.

    2. Do I need to complete skill assessment for direct entry scheme?

I do not want to wait too long if I am eligible to apply for 187 visa through direct entry scheme. My company has sponsored several 187 visas in the past, so it will not be issue for them if I am eligible.

Please give me your opinions on how I can proceed.

    Thanks in advance for y

  6. As far as i know means i have seen some cases in this forum who had applied visa about a month later than nomination have got their nomination and visa approved same day or only few days difference. Thats why i am saying "hopefully" in your case. Thanks

OK, i see. I will try to submit ASAP.

  7. Yes I applied separate and nomination result 4 month 10 days and now waiting for visa from 10th nov 2015. Same one of my friend she applied both together she already got result in December 15. So now hope for the best.

    GOD.... that is so long...

if that is the case, it would be disaster for me (> 6 month waiting..). when you submit the application, the visa will become bridging visa, during this time, you can leave austrlia but you would not allowed to enter it....

  8. Hi yuan zhou, as far as i know if you apply visa before the approval of your nomination, hopefully you do not have to wait another 6-8 months. But if you apply visa after your nomination approval, you definately have to wait for 6-8 more months.

Greatly thanks, Praneeshb. you say "as far as i know", do you mean you had the information from immigration?

  9. SOS....

The HR in university only submitted the nomination (occupation: university lecture) on Nov 2015. I have waited for nearly 6 month for the nomination result and still no news.

After enquiring with immigration staff, I just realised today that the application for 187 direct entry also need to submit.... (the HR insisted that i should first get nomination approval then apply for visa. But checking with immigration, they say i can submit the application when the nomination is logged). I am so desperate after knowing that.

This mean i still need to be in the waiting list again and wait for another 6 months in order to get PR if i submit the application now?

Does any one have the same problem as mine and provide some suggestions?

    Greatly appreciated for your reply.
