Thanks so much! [emoji16] I planning to make the move after Christmas maybe start of February would be good for me but not sure yet. I'm a carpenter by trade, I'm hearing Sydneys booming at the minute so hopefully not to hard to find the workCongratulations, thats great news! When do you plan to make the move and what occupation are you looking for work in?
jagzz...we submitted our EOI with 65 points and waited 6 weeks (3 invitation rounds) for our invite, but I think it is very much dependent on your occupation. -
I believe it plays out differently for different reasons such job occupation and work experience. I only had 55+5 points for Carpenter and got my invite within 5 days. I got the grant after 5 months in total.Congratulations...
Just wanted to ask how much time it generally takes after filing EOI with 70 points... -
I'm extremely happy I have finally got my visa. I first started the process back in February 2015. I got in touch with a company in Melbourne called Australia Here We come as I had heard many good things about them through friends when I was first over in Melbourne back in 2011. I cannot thank them enough for all the hard work they put in to helping me secure my visa. I must also add that for over 7 months of that time I put the visa process on the back burner as other things had come up, but I'm so happy that it's all finally all over and done with. Just want to say thanks to all that helped on this forum and that it made the process so much easier. Cheers!

5 hours ago, Nelly said:hello.... was wondering, if anyone has had any further progress on their application?
Hi Nelly,
I'm just waiting for my police checks to come back this week hopefully then do my medical next week so il probably not hear much back til after the new tax year I'm guessing at this rate
Did you hear anything more on your visa? -
Hi Paul,
It's hard to say how long it takes.. Sometimes its granted pretty quick as in direct grant or it can take some time on the other hand. I think having all documents ready when applying does speed it up somewhat though. I was guessing around the 4 month mark but I'm seeing other people getting their grant already around 8 weeks. It's very hard to predict I reckon, just depends on how complex each individual case is

Hi Nelly & Darragh,
Glad to find you guys on the same boat. :-)
I've applied for 190 visa (South Australia ) on April 24th, CO requested documents on May 2nd. Done with everything and submitted on May 16th. Awaiting for the grant.
Hi Paul,
Hopefully it's not much longer for you now you have all documents uploaded. Iv had the request for police checks and medicals today and my agent reckons its moving quite quickly.
Have you lived in SA before? I lived in Adelaide for year in 2012 on working hoilday visa.

On 5/22/2017 at 14:01, Nelly said:Hi darragh,
We are also hoping to move to Sydney.....on a 190 visa. All going well, the plan is - my husband will move first and once he settles in (job, house and all), me and the kids will follow. The whole thing is overwhelming.. especially since we will be moving there and then looking for jobs [emoji32] but we are excited at the same time ! I lodged the visa application on 31st march .....
It's difficult to gauge the estimated date. Some have got their grants within 5-8 weeks and for others it took longer. I'm just hoping it's soon and we can begin the moving process in June ! [emoji3] optimistic maybe.
May I ask, what profession are you in?
Hi Nelly,
Hopefully it's not to much longer then. My estimated visa grant is middle of August which would be great as Im ready to go now. I'm a carpenter going over to a few mates who say Sydney is booming for construction work which is great to hear as they say it's quite easy to get the work.
What do you and your husband work at?

Hi Nelly,
I lodged mine on 16th May. I would also love to hear from different people about the big move to Australia. Hoping to make the move Sept time all being well with the visa maybe I'm being little to optimistic as the visas sometimes take a bit longer than that.
Where are you hoping to move to? I'm hopefully moving to Sydney on 190 visa.

Does anyone know about having a year from the date of police checks and Medicals , to land and activate visas?
I'm a bit confused .
my qualification assessment is on its way back to me , we've done our English tests and the hopefully in 2 weeks we submit EOI.
Similarly to Nelly - we are getting jobs once out there. Terrifying but hopefully worth it!
So after you put your application for your visa in you have apply for your medicals and police checks, whichever comes back first you will have one year from that date to activate your visa.
Hope that clears that up for you

Hi
I just applied for Eoi for 190 nsw carpenter visa.
Would anyone have any estimates on how long it would take to get the visa.
I know it seems a bit out there to ask but just wondering ballpark figures here... 6 or 7 months would that be realistic enough?
Thanks for taking time to read my post [emoji4]

A 60 point carpenter should be alright because you have work experience so you would meet state sponsorship requirements. Has your 189 been selected yet? If not, then you could add in the 190 as well.
Regards,
Richard
Yeah I have an invitation for 189 at the minute. Can I just cancel it and apply for 190 or do I have to wait until the 60 days are up?
Thanks

Sydney seems to be booming at the minute loads of work going on from what im hearing from a few differnt people shouldn't be to hard to get a job Nello

Congratulations Nello! Im in the same situation going for 189 carpenter. At the minute I can only show 4 years of tax and bank statements as I got paid a couple of years cash.
Do you think be better to go for a 190 considering I can only show the 4?
Was going to send a letter from my boss to say I was working them years getting cash but not sure that would be enough to satisfy immigration.

Yeah I agree I think maybe possibly a better option would be to go for 190 visa instead claim the 3 years for 5points and 5 points for state nomination, it works out for 60 points.
I have an invitation for 189 at the minute would it be a problem to change and go for a 190 nsw?
Do you think it would be hard to to get a nsw state nomination with 60 points with carpentry?

Hi Richard wondering could I ask a question on the documents I have?
2010-tax documents and bank statements.
2011-tax documents and bank statements (only 3 Months to though as I moved to Australia on whv)
2013-paid cash in hand
2014-paid cash in hand for first half then employer put me on books
2015-p60 and bank statements
2016-p60 and bank statements
2017-p60 and bank statements
At the minute they will probably only count 4 years 2010,15,16 and 17.
Will a written letter from my employer be enough to cover the cash in hand years? 2013 and 2014.
Thanks

I'm not sure if I can but I will ask my employer and see what he can do for me just to make sure I have everything in order
Thanks Richard you have been a massive help thank you so much

What is the payer listed as? Is it just a reference number or a different name? You could obtain a statement from the employer confirming the reference number or title used.
I get paid cheques so when I lodge it with my bank, it just shows numbers beside the money for example it would say cqhe0006 then shows the money deposited beside that but no names as such.
Also I have been given a p11 form from my employer to cover for two years back in 2010 as I cant get p60 for that period.
Do you thing that will be sufficient with the bank statements with no names if that makes sense?
Thanks again Richard for getting back to me with that information.

Thanks so much for replying Richard. It's gives me hope for getting 189. Very stressful thinking that I have got all the rest of the documents plus English test done but may fail at the last hurdle haha.
It's just my bank statements don't have my employers name only shows money going into my account. I have just highlighted were money's have been going in every week.

nothing as of yet I'm afraid.
It does take a long time and changing case officers cannot help the process as what one exeperienced person sees and knows is acceptable a new person may not see as sufficient as they may not know the system. The hardest part for me was getting some references from companies that have since gone through the hoop. I mean what do I do there? When you try and ask a question and get no answers you just have to guess what they want. It's all paper work etc etc.
i sent it all off again a few weeks ago so will hopefully hear something's. Back around April? Who knows. They will probably want my inside leg measurement and proof that I have bones in my body. I feel these guys know more about me than my wife does!!
oh well hopefully it will all be worth it.
Hahaha yeah I know how you feel they seem want to know information I have no idea about trying to get.. Tricky situation. What evidence did you for you proof of work?
