  1. Hi there,

Just looking for some advice on a family sponsored visa. Our TRA has just been approved and we need another 10 points to apply for our visa. My second cousin in Australia has offered to sponsor us. Firstly is she able to? And secondly is it a hard process for the family member sponsoring us.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Hi Craigash -

All depends on the visa and skills assessor requirements - DIBP requires a minimum of 6 for each of the 4 bands if using IELTS, however some skills assessors and state sponsorship authorities have created higher minimum scores for particular occupations. In most cases for skilled visas, the overall score is not relevant - only the minimum score across the 4 bands is. Suggest he checks the skills assessor requirements and state sponsorship requirements carefully for his occupation, and also whether he needs the extra 10 points (IELTS minimum 7 on each of 4 bands or equivalent) or 20 points (minimum 8 on each of 4 bands or equivalent) for his visa if it's a points tested skills visa.

    Hope this helps -

  3. Hi there,

My partner has just received his IELTS results. He have scored 7.0 and 7.5 on every category apart from the writing where he scored 6.5.

He received an overall score 7.0.

Is this enough for a pass or will he need a resit?

    Thanks in advance

  4. Hi there,

My partner has just submitted his EOI. We have been together 10 years, engaged for 6 years and have two children together. I am curious to know that if he is invited to apply for a visa, if not being married will cause any problems for us?

    Thanks in advance [emoji1]

  5. Hi everyone,

My partner is about to submit his eoi. He is a stonemason. I was wondering if anyone knows the timescale of receiving an invitation to apply for your visa after submitting an eoi?

    Thanks in advance [emoji106] [emoji129]

  6. Thanks for your reply. It's a 189 visa he's applying for. That's reassuring to know. I was panicking a bit when I heard her saying that

  7. Hi everyone,

My partner is just about to send his paperwork away for his skills assessment. Upon telling a friend of the family this she told him that he needed $40,000 in savings in order for visas to be granted. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? It Seems quite ridiculous but I would just like some confirmation that this information is rubbish.

    Thanks in advance[emoji1]

  8. So happy as myself and partner have paid the first installment for our move to Australia!! Just going to send my partners stonemasonry certificates and work history away! I'm really hoping it's a straight forward and smooth application!! Trying not to get too excited but it's just so hard not to ??
