  1. Just want to share the good news - our MA called just a few minutes ago to say that we are now permanent residents!

    Timeline:

Nomination and Visa application: 9 November 2016

Approved: 13 April 2017, NSW PESE no further documents requested.

Prior to this, our employer actually lodged nomination and visa application back in April - which had to be withdrawn due to being 19 days early from the required minimum 2 years of employment. It has been a long wait but definitely worth it! Hope this gives you guys more hope and patience in waiting for your turn.

    Happy Easter!!

Also, in my experience with the 2 applications, I had called immigration once for every application and they seem to have looked in our applications quickly after that. So if you can, try to give them a ring just to get an update, being mindful of the processing times of course.

How exciting for you!.. they're going through the months fast! Let us know how you get on. Best of luck to you

Thanks Nikki! Will update the s/s when I get the good news. Our MA refused to call saying it won't do anything but glad we called so we know that we have a CO now.

  3. Hi guys,

We initially applied for nomination on Feb and visa on April 2016 however, it turns out our employer has submitted the nomination 19 days earlier than the min required 2 yrs of employment for us to be eligible under the TRT stream.

Now we're just about to reapply as we have definitely met the 2 yr requirement now (currently with the company for 2 yrs and 6 mos) and I'm now helping our HR manager to complete the nomination part. I don't want to pay MA as we have all the required documents anyway and our HR Manager is very helpful. So far we have all the requirements completed now and I'm just struggling with the below:

If there are no Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents performing equivalent work in your workplace at the same location:

    • appropriate references to or copies of certified agreements
    • appropriate references to industrial awards
    • appropriate references to or copies of remuneration surveys
    • appropriate references to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook
    • appropriate references to the Australian Bureau of Statistics Employee Earnings and Hours Survey
    • written advice from employer associations and unions

I have everything listed on the above except for the:

    • written advice from employer associations and unions

Does anyone have any idea how/where I can get this (for Fitness Manager role) and if this is a mandatory requirement? Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi Hamza, we have been with our employer for 2 years so we qualify for the TRT, with lesser requirements.

    Visa Status- Waiting

  5. Just received an email from the Dept today - saying the nomination was submitted a couple of weeks earlier than the minimum requirement of 2 years so the options are to withdraw or the Department will decide based on this. I reckon our application will get denied so my employer said we will have to re-apply both nomination and visa. So another lot of payment, and the waiting game continues.

  6. Thank you cc , did you got any update on your file. any feb update in last two days?? i am also waiting 12th feb, too much stress

No update yet, but they emailed my employer last week saying that they have now allocated a case officer. It's likely we'll hear back mid-Sept - just thinking this way so I don't get too impatient.

  7. I'm also part of the Feb group. My employer followed up yesterday and this is the email they sent him:

"We wish to confirm that the above nomination application has been recently allocated for assessment. A case officer will be in contact with you should further information be required" Nom and visa status still "received"

  8. Our employer followed up with Immi yesterday and this is the auto reply:

**This is an automated response regarding ENS 186/RSMS 187 applications. Please do not respond to this email**

Email Updated on 15 August 2016

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We are currently allocating ENS applications lodged Early January 2016 and RSMS applications lodged late November 2015. If you have recently lodged an application, this means that we may not allocate your application for at least 6 months. You will be contacted when your case is allocated for assessment.

  9. Thanks @24July2015 will defo consider applying sooner

I applied for my visa and went on a cruise overseas a couple of months later. If your 457 is still valid the bridging visa doesn't kick-in until your 457 expires: (Copied directly from bridging visa)

"About your bridging visa: This bridging visa is not in effect because your Temporary Business Entry visa is currently ineffect."

  10. no need to change if your 457 is in effect.

I think the first bridging visa to be granted would be BVA, but since we are travelling overseas, if we apply right now, we would need to get bridging visa BVB, and as we are in remote Australia, it would take a few weeks to be granted so we thought better to be safe and wait till we get back to apply.

  11. Hi @Jacobaug2016

It is normal for DIBP to ask this question, it is part of an employer's requirement to prove that the terms and conditions of employment offered to you are no less favourable than what would normally apply to an Australian PR/citizen doing the same work. Nothing to worry about if they can prove that the salary they offered you meets this requirement.

  12. Good luck everyone for today!

New to this thread but have been following for a few weeks now. My partner and I have been sponsored under the direct entry stream, we work for the same company. We didn't get MA, but since I work in HR, I was also asked to lodge the nomination for both of us, so have the advantage of checking status of our nomination - lodged 5 Feb 2016. We plan to lodge our visa application in May. How long does the nomination approval usually take? Thank you!
