  1. Hello everyone,

Has anyone had a 407 training visa in cookery?? I am looking at doing a 6 mth cert III in cookery then applying for a 407 visa, does anyone know if it is possible to do so off the bat of a 6 month study programme??

Also I have been told the 2 year 407 in cookery would give me enough credits to result in my coming out the other side as a qualified chef, anyone shed any light on whether this is true?

    Thank you in advance :-)

    Nina

  2. Oh that's awesome!

I want to go to Perth. I love it there, I have family there (not close enough to sponsor!) I spent a year WHV there 5 years ago and have always wanted the opportunity to go back, but I don't tick the box for the SOL occupation list (Marketing)

Have you been granted your visa yet?

I'd like to do Business or Marketing, but can't decide which course at the moment. I'm scared of the visa application... lol... don't know why, so it would be great to hear what they required from you and if it was easy and straightforward?

Where will you be studying? 31st December will come around so fast! (plus flights are cheaper on that day!!) :)

    Hi there SummerHQ,

I have already had a student visa and will be applying soon for a 2nd, I used an agent 1st time around and cost me over £1K, I am going to apply myself this time as i've been told its really straight forward!

I am going to Perth! I am 40! I am hoping for Joondaulp TAFE, my course kicks off 30th Jan, looking to fly early Jan depending on flight prices. My agent said you can apply 134 days before the course starts, maybe it that has changed to 90 days since I last applied!

Where in Perth are you looking to study? I am doing a childcare diploma.

  3. Hi All,

Another questions for you, I am a bit confused about the CSOL list, it identifies a list of jobs in demand, but I understand these professions are only in demand in certain regions? How do you find our which region requires which professions?

For example: If I wanted to try and secure a 187 visa with a profession outlined on the CSOL I believe I would first need to identify the region that profession? I remember speaking to an agent once and he said "yes that profession is on CSOL but only for Adelaide and Tasmaina" where do I find a break down of the region each profession is needed??

Hope this makes sense. Thank in advance to anyone who can help :-)

  4. Hi All,

Such a wealth of knowledgeable people on this site so I am hoping someone can give me a break down for me the requirements to be eligible for a 187 visa.

I am British and 40 years old, not sure if the requirements change with age etc...

    Things such like:

    Is it points tested

Would I need an employer to sponsor me for this visa, or can you apply independently

Do I need a skills assessment & or ILETS (if I have an Australian qualification)

Do you need to prove so many years work experience to qualify or is just the qualification enough

How long are you committed to the company that sponsor you (if not applied for independently)

Thank you in advance to anyone that has information that may help, and if I have missed anything that could be relevant then I would be grateful to hear about that too. All the best :-)
