  1. Good to know - thanks Kyliedonut!

Here is hoping that both of ours are sorted soon! It is pretty frustrating having to recall all dates of travel for Form 80. I wish I could have gotten a passport tracking report :S whatever give immigration enough information to make them happy!

Low risk @CDOG. I know that I am applying from a low risk country...the UK, but I have visited some high risk countries so not sure if that will make a difference, or take up time, checking out the dates I've given are correct etc. You'd think they would be able to access passport tracking or something to ensure you weren't in these countries for "too long." Who knows, it's a guessing game!
  2. Thanks for the reply! Do you kno w - is Canada is LR or HR?

It is generally stated that grant time is 3 months from date of application.

But as per my observation, timeline for visa grant varies a lot, mainly depending on individuals applying from Low RISK (LR) or HIGH RISK (HR) countries. For LR applicants, direct visa grants is common if all forms and PCC / Medicals are front uploaded along with Visa application. otherwise grant is issued in 2 to 3 months time approx.

On the other hand, applicants from HR countries have to wait for 6 to 10 months depending on the speed of internal and external checks done by the CO.

Also it should be kept in mind, that the cases are not dealt by one CO only. The applications are processed through various COs at different times, probably it is done to have a series of checks and opinions so that minute details are not overlooked.

All above stated is my personal opinion and is open for comments by forum members.

  3. OH WOW, thanks for the update! I have almost exact same timeline Aidenw (only just for me, no family members). Maybe there is hope it will come through soon!

Appreciate the update!! Best of luck!

    Hi all,

Just received 'auto-generated letter'; 189 granted. I express interest around 18 Jan for a family of five, got invited on 22 jan, submitted 189 application on 25. CO contacted me on 11 Feb asked for form 80 for me and OH which was submitted on 15 Feb. I front loaded other doc including police check and did medical before CO contact. Thanks to everyone posting on this forum, I gained a lot of info that enabled me to apply without needs of immigration agency

  4. I have the same timeline Kenneth:

Invited early Jan and submitted that day (including PCC and medical)

CO assigned in Feb 10th asking for Form 80

    Form 80 submitted Feb 11th

STILL WAITING! Let me know when you get your as it is driving me mad and hearing that someone else on a similar timeline has received theirs may help my sanity!

Good luck with the house sale, no experience on visas other than the above - wish I could help!

Same for us, submitted early Jan, CO assigned mid Jan, luckily we finished medicals before so all we had to do complete was Form 80, PCC and get hold of our birth certificates (born in Kuwait!)

Resubmitted everything on Feb 8th and now the wait begins, lets hope it's quick and painless now (i wish!)

  5. Hey there, let me know when you get your visa - I have a very similar timeline and am dying to find out!!

 Hi everyone, just a little update... Visa lodged on the 27th of Jan - CO assigned on the 8th of feb -Police checks done 15/02/2016, Medicals done - 27/02/2016 and form 80 submitted and its the long old waiting game again... sooooooo frustrating.
  6. Hi,

It can take anywhere between 1 month to 6 months for visa grant. I have the clients who received their PR grant within 1 month of lodging decision ready application. At the same time, there are cases where it took 6 months despite submitting everything at the time of visa lodgement.

    Regards,

Thanks for the reply - I have heard those statistics but its just so frustrating hearing nothing from Immi! Trying to make life plans is impossible when you life is on hold pending visa status.

Appreciate the anticipated timelines though :)

  7. Can't comment from personal experience...yet....but I am lodging my 189 application today through my migration agent after receiving invite yesterday. They have told me the average is 3months at the moment, no matter how quickly you upload police checks/medicals...and it seems they are asking for Form 80 more often these days too. I've got mine filled out and ready to send ahead as well.

Thanks for the reply! I hope your is faster than mine! Fingers crossed!

  8. Hey all, haven't seen any recent updates here in a while. My timeline is below, wondering about further waiting times and thought I would see if any one else has been granted a 189 visa recently and when they applied.

    1. I was invited and immediately applied (including medical, police checks, etc) 10 January 2016 for my permanent residency.

    2. I was assigned a case officer 10 February 2016 and asked to complete a Form 80 (detailed travel, work, history form).

    3. Form 80 was submitted on the 11 February 2016 and now I am just waiting to hear back if I have been granted a visa.

Can anyone comment on the time between when they got a case officer, got asked for more information and got granted their visa for the subclass 189 visas?

    Thanks in advance!
