I’ve realised this should be in another sub and have posted there but can’t find where to delete the thread! Sorry!

Hi all
I have not long returned from a two year working holiday visa back to the UK. After meeting my girlfriend out in oz (also from the UK) we are absolutely certain in our want to return back to Australia.
I was wondering if anyone had sponsored or been sponsored by a company as a CNC machinist and/or programmer.
I worked in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and never had a problem getting interviews/jobs as a machinist but I think it would be hard to convince someone to give me a job from 10,000 miles away. It’s also hard to judge the quality of a job role and the shop I’d be working in from overseas.
I have had an old boss tell me that he may sponsor me after covid is over but I’m not 100% how much I trust that the option will come to fruition.
Can anybody shed some light on this please?
Thanks :-)

Hey
I'll be in melbourne/canberra/sydney in October for about 3 weeks and I am planning a WHV early next year. I know what you mean when you say other people aren't interested ..
But like quokka said you'd make friends in the first week!
Anyways I am 21 and from the midlands, UK, my instatram is @dboylett

I love reading this thread

Finally booked my flights for October 1st so anybody hit me up if you'll be in Melbourne around this time!

Looks like they might be going back on this idea

I am hoping to be in Sydney for around 8th October so you would probably be pretty settled in by then.
You will be fine  most people are alone when they go, like myself !

Thanks guys. Never knew that. It must of changed as I always thought it was 16
Nah the rule goes that children below the age of 10 cannot be considered for criminal charges and are basically exempt. Although ages 10-16 are treated slightly differently than older people.

That is such a good quote :-) .Always look forward, that way you will see the pitfalls...Look back and you will surely fall -
It is very bad news for people like me that are set to begin their' WHV after this date. The question is if it is still possible to survive with this effective wage cut, maybe it is a deterrant.

That is interesting. A third of wages on tax? Surely that can't be true. That would likely bring most backpackers into a deficit whilst on a WHV. It would be very very difficult to save money. It would kill the WHV! Is this definitely real?

With regards to certificates, skill and experience I am quite qualified.
I am sure I come under the metal machinist category.
For the 189/190 visa I believe I score around 80-90 points but I don’t think I would succeed with that little amount of points. I’m not entirely sure how it works but I’ve seen some stuff online of people saying they don’t get accepted even with 90+ points .
Edit: I’m obviously aware of the current state of events and that getting to Australia is quite difficult right now. We weren’t expecting to be anywhere near the road to coming back until summer 2021 but I’m just doing as much research now as I can.
