Hi there, if was to rent our house out here for two years then want to sell after a couple of years, do you have to pay capital gains tax. Or can you just sell and transfer the money. Thanks Simon

Ok thanks guys, is there monthly charges for the account and cash withdrawals at all,

Hi, what is the best bank to go with? We want a normal account for our salaries to go in to, preferably with no fees for drawing out money and monthly fees etc. Thanks Simon

Applied for nsw. And they didn't contact any of my references.

Just hang in there, we gave up hope, we just moved on with things as best as we could. Just have to try and forget about it. It will come.

Congratulations, amazing feeling isn't it. Seems like lots are getting granted now though, keep the faith guys.

Hi every one. Could someone put simply the situation of renting out house in UK while living in aus. We want to rent ours out here, the money we get from it here will be kept in UK account not used in australia. This tax thing is really confusing. Thanks Simon

Good plan :).
The wait for the visa was hideous. The feeling of it being granted still doesn't even seem real almost a month on! But the relief and having the thought of it lifted from my shoulders...I can't describe. It really was 'life on hold' for 7 months.
All the very best to you and your family. Where are you heading again?
Sure is a massive relief, it's only me and my wife. We heading to nsw. We are thinking activate it, they going next October/November. Save more money etc. Where are you heading to

Woohoo!!! Congratulations! I was waiting for yours to come through as I could sense that you were getting as annoyed as I was!! Great news :). Onwards and upwards!
Ha ha I'm useally really patient to but that wait, and not knowing how far along the application is really does test you lol. Yup onwards and upwards now. We are thinking about activating it in december as we are in Vietnam and Bali then anyway so thought while there activate.

Simon, hang in there, by next month you might get the grant, also because faking death would be a tad over the top ;-) and the money doesn't seem to be coming back any other. See you in Australia! Do send them a follow up email.
Ha ha won't fake death then lol, just was so fed up. We have got a plan b now and are giving it till Christmas so no visa by then it's no go.

Hi Simons,
I know it is hard but hang in there. The grant may come any day. You have waited such a long time after all.
Yea I know, but it may not aswell lol. What will be will be, and all that schnizle.
-
Because of this wait. We started the whole process in Jan 2016 and life has basically been on hold since then, and things are moving so slow that I just think it's gonna be the 11-15 months they say. Its just ridiculous. If it's not granted by next march then will have to do med and police checks again too which is more money.

If you are changing your mind then they may not refund. This is the excerpt from the site
"Refund of the Visa Application Charge
Mandatory refund
You may request a refund of the visa application charge, however there are very limited circumstances where the visa application charge must be refunded. These include the following:- your application was 'unnecessary' at the time it was made
- your application is made because of a mistake made by the department
- the applicant dies before a decision is made.
A mandatory refund is not available if you change your mind about continuing your visa application after it has been made. The visa application must have been unnecessary at the time it was made. The visa application will not be considered unnecessary if, for example, you no longer need a visa because you no longer want to migrate to Australia.
Discretionary refund
The visa application charge may be refunded, if the visa application is made because of a mistake by the applicant, for example the visa applicant mistakenly applies for the wrong type of visa. The application must clearly have been mistakenly made. The migration delegate has absolute discretion to make a discretionary refund.A refund will not be given in situations where you subsequently decide that the visa application was a 'mistake' because, for example you:
- change your mind about continuing the application
- do not satisfy a criterion for visa grant
- claim it was a mistake to have applied because your visa application was unsuccessful (that is, you state that you would never have applied for this visa had you known your application would not be successful)
- consider in retrospect that you applied for the wrong class of visa.
You can make a written request for a refund stating the reasons why you consider your application fee should be refunded when sending your withdrawal letter to the office processing your visa application."
Thanks I did read that on line was hoping there was a loop hole somewhere apart from faking my own death lol

Does anyone know if was to stop the application you would be able to claim the application fee back?

Tough! And you are right. No point putting life on hold. All the best to you too
You too and everyone on here, we have actually been looking at houses now in country side and thinking maybe move there, if get the visa we active it, if things work here then cool, if not can go there and give it a shot. Would be nice if there was some sort of proper info on how your visa is doing, but there isn't so just have to accept it and get on with things. Least we have a nice summer here, o wait lol.

Does the processing time have anything to do with nominating state or the job code or the processing office (mine is GSM Adelaide)?
Haven't got a clue, I'm going on plumber to nsw, 60 points. Think it maybe something to do with the points. Says the waiting time is something like 11-15 months, we are just looking at it as 15 months now. Cant be bothered to keep looking and stressing about it anymore, what will be will be, we just getting on with things as normal. Just keep saving and will have more to go with, life goes on.

We lodged for the visa on 14 May 2017, Medical's and all documents uploaded on 8 June 2017, the wait is so miserable
I can see many who have lodged before are still waiting. So 7-8 months should be expected?
I have been checking half a dozen times a day, but it appears 190 visa grant is very slow compared to the 189.
We lodged on 20 March, every thing uploaded by 8 April. Still waiting. Bored.
