We are on the 600 visa with the proviso we are out of the Australia for 6 months in any 18 month period. Can someone tell me please, is a month 28 days or is it calendar month or is the 6 months a set number of days. Thank you.

Is there any way to get the 6 months exit requirement on the 600 visa removed or when we apply for the next one request this provision not be applied.
thank you

Dear Allan, thank you. It looks like we will have to wait it out, unless we die first.

Dear Alan Collett
thank you for your reply . Our visitor sub class 600 was granted on 7th November 2016. This visa is valid for 3 years. In every 18 month period we have to be absent for 6 months from Australia. We do have condition 8503. And 8558. We are 80 ans 75 years of age. Is there any other visa that we can apply for that will allow us to stay without this 6 month restriction. We lodged our papers for a 143 visa in June 2016.this was lodged offshore.
thank you for your help

HELP. I AM 75 my husband is 80. We are on the visitor visa 600 We have booked a trip to Thailand and uk for 99 days. As that is the time left of the six months we need to be out of the country. We need travel insurance and are finding it impossible. Firstly because of age and secondly because it is over 90 days. Does anyone know of a company that will cover us or do we have to travel without insurance.

We have applied for the contributory parent visa sub class 143. We are now on visitor visa sub class 600. We are elderley parents and the visa stipulates that we need to be out of the country for 6 months in every 18 months. We are finding it rather hard and expensive to be out of the country for this amount of time. Is there any way around this or do we need to keep doing this until our visa is granted, which seems to be a wait of three years.
Thank you
maureen

Hope someone can give us some help. We are waiting for a 143 visa. We have been paying Alliance $380 per month Health insurance for myself and my wife for 7 years. I have today received an email saying the premium is going up to almost $1000 per month. This seems extraordinary. I have contacted them but they insist that this is what we will now have to pay. Does anyone know of another insurance company at a more reasonable price. Thank you.
