  1. Happy Friday to all PomsinOz !

Would love to get you thoughts on Pet friendly holidays here in Australia.

Has anyone taken their furry friends with them on holidays? where did you go? what did you? what are the pros and cons of bringing your best buddies with you?

Thanks and have a great weekend!

  2. Hi Kanga, Management at Dogtainers are aware of the move from quarantine in Melbourne through to Brisbane and are continuing to look into situation. It is a concern to Dogtainers that a dog could be released from the quarantine facility after the necessary government checks for the release had been done and then emergency treatment on arrival into Brisbane be required. Dogtainers are making their own independent enquiry as this situation has brought into question the welfare Dogtainers has over pets we transport. Dogtainers have a proud history of operating in the animal transport industry in Australia for over 40 years. Welfare of the animals in our care is our highest priority. Following this situation we have further heightened our systems and processes for collecting pets from quarantine to ensure our animal handlers take even further steps to ensure the condition of the animal already inside the travel crate when we arrive to collect the pets matches the condition as prescribed by the government facility.

In this situation we wish your pet a speedy recovery and are absolutely glad to hear that he is on the road to recovery.

  5. Hello all, just wondering whether anyone has shipped a nervous feline friend from Oz to UK and how did they travel, did you have to use any sedatives? My 3 year old cat is not normally a nervous cat but is terrified of going in the car. Obviously I am concerned about sending her half way around the world, but she is a firm part of our family. Thanks.

    Hi Brit1,

We ship around 3,000 cats a years domestically and internationally and use a few natural calming products in nicely enclosed plastic crates would be very happy to help with your move if you need it.

    Best Regards

  6. Hi everyone, this is my first post in here. I hope you can help to put my mind at ease. :)

We are due to go back to the U.K. this November and have adopted a rescue dog (big staffy/bull Arab cross) while we have been living here in Sydney. (Was only supposed to foster but we fell in love with him!)

i am wondering if anyone can share their experiences of transporting an older (9 years) dog back to the U.K. Or if any one has transported a nervous dog before. This will be my first time transporting a dog overseas and I'm a little worried as it's such a long flight and he is a big sook.

I've asked for a number of quotes from different carriers, if anyone can recommend a particularly amazing one I'd love to hear!

    Thank you all in advance!

    Hi Guys,

Happy to help out with a quote if you need it, 1300 13 52 52 and you will go through to one of our 14 offices in Australia or NZ.

    Best Regards

  7. Hi all we are in early stages and was wondering if anyone has a rough idea on the price off transport our dog and cat from uk to Australia.

    Thanks

The guys have hit the nail on the head, PetAir UK are great and can make wooden crates to your size pet to keep the costs in check. Once your pets arrives here in Australia then Dogtainers can collect from after the 10 days quarantine and deliver to you anywhere in Oz :) Good luck with it all.

    Mick

  8. Hi Thom,

    Great looking pooches.

Trust that you are well. I thought it maybe helpful if I jumped in and gave some info regarding your pets transport back to the UK also. Very Stormy summed it up very well indeed . With regards to the rabies vaccination this needs to be at done more than 21 days prior to the departure but can be done a year in advance also . Generally it takes up to 3 weeks to ensure the antibodies are at a sufficient level for protection which is where the 3 weeks comes from but as mentioned can be done well in advance too.

One important thing to keep in mind also is that we recommend the pets have the opportunity to acclimatise to their crates in advance of the move. I would recommend getting in touch around 3 months in advance. In our case once the booking is made we can bring the crates out so the pets can start getting used to the crates.

If you wanted any information in advance please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to. All the best Danny

  9. I might be calling on you yet Mick ...been having hassles getting hold of the company that was going to transport my trio from quarantine to their new home in May ...as you can imagine as a result I'm not feeling relaxed at this very minute as I thought I was sorted with that.

On the bright side their last blood tests are all fine so only the last of the flea tick and worming to go !!

Will give them another day or two... if not well the job of getting them from melbourne to border of vic nsw will be up for grabs.

    cheers Mary-Anne

  13. I used @Dogtainers Pet Transport , she flew from Brisbane to Munich, we stayed there with her as my husbands family are German, we then bought a car ( uk car) and hit her European pet passport and she came yo the uk with us through the tunnel.

Digtainers were about $300 cheaper than all the others, had exceptional service, sent emails with photos while she was boarding ( 3 free days and 2 extra) while we were in Japan for a week.

    Cant recommend recommend them enough.

Thanks Ruth, we love working with all the pets and their owners, thank you for your business.

  14. That's all very true, and quarantine here has gone up to $1500 for the 10 days stay plus then domestic flights back to QLD. But we are very happy to assist you if you require help.

  15. Hi Kelly,

We have moved many 1,000s of British Bulldogs back to the UK, our teams are well trained and our vets give us the most up to date advise on air shipping brachycephalic breeds. Please call our 1300 13 52 52 number and we would be pleased to help. Can I ask where in Australia you are based?

    Regards

    Mick
