Hi, my nomination application for 457 has recently been rejected due to the company size being too small. I am trying to understand the next step. Can I re-apply for the nomination? Can someone please suggest a good MA for the process for a marketing specialist role in a small business?

My Company called immi yesterday and they said that processing times are currently around 3 months as they're very busy right now :mad: However, at least the status of the nomination application has been changed to "In Progress" my company told me. Does anyone know how long it usually takes from the status change in the nomination to get it finalized? Also, does anyone know if our applications will be looked at before the nomination is finalized?

Has your employer sponsored before? I guess what you can do is make an appeal to the tribunal to reconsider the nomination/sponsorship. The process is also on immi website. I don't know how long will it take though. Alternatively, you can look for a new employer. That's just my opinion. How long did your nomination change the status from "Application Received to In process then Finalised?" Thanks

Yes they have sponsored before about 2 years back for a different position which was successful. Mine is marketing specialist which was refused due to the size. Tribunal I have been told takes too long which is a minimum of 6 months to a year and can go up to 2 years also. Not a feasible option. Can only look at reapplying if at all can find a good MA for this. My application was lodged on 7th Dec'15 and answer came on 25th Jan'16..

Just found out on the Australian boarder homepage that there's actually a way for urgent applications to get processed faster, but it needs a truly exceptional reason, whatever that means in detail.

That's under priority processing. The company needs to explain the exceptional circumstances for the rush..like in case of a project manager etc. That's what my MA told me.

Hi, I applied for my nomination and visa together on 7th Dec'15. Have not heard anything till yet. Hope someone can throw some light on how long nomination takes to get approved. What job profile have you applied for? And what part of Australia?

I started a new threat on 457 nomination processing times as here people have their nominations mostly approved and just waiting for the application to go through. Maybe we can get some feedback in my other threat about the nomination process times..
