  1. Hi everyone.

We submitted our 489 application at the end of June. We were then asked to submit our form 80, police checks and medicals which were all done and sent back on 12th August.

Since then we have heard nothing.

It states on the website as 3 months for processing 489 applications. It's now 4 months since application was submitted and on immiaccount it is still showing as "assessment in progress".

is anyone else experiencing delays with 489 applications?

    Thanks guys.

  2. Hi Mark,

Thankyou for your reply. So in effect then as long as we live and work in a regional/rural area in accordance with condition 8539 and comply with the relevant postcodes attached to said condition we are within our rights to go to a state other than the one who sponsored us.

    regards

  3. Hi everyone

Could someone clarify this for me please.

If you get a State Sponsorship 489 visa having had a certain state sponsoring you, are you able to live and work in a rural area of a different state without jeopardising the conditions of your visa?

    Thanks

  4. Hi there

just wanted to say welcome and that I certainly feel your pain We are at the same point as you, form 80, police checks and medicals all done and uploaded on 12 August. We were told 4-6 weeks from that date for a decision and we are at 6 weeks tomorrow eek!!! It drives you crazy everyday just waiting. Our agent has said it should be any day now!!!

we have an agent acting for us too and I know that they have one immi account for their company which all clients cases are linked to so they cannot give that information out as it's the company account. So each day we wait.......and wait......and keep waiting for that much wanted email/phone call.

i hope you hear something very soon libla xx

  5. hi nissa strange we are both in Southampton. Where are you planning on going in oz?

    hi Howards

we had 4 options for SS but have applied and are hoping for SS for south Australia (Adelaide). We wanted Brisbane but unfortunately Queensland are not sponsoring my hubby's trade. However we need SS to make up our points so will do 2 years in SA (providing we get it) to abide by the requirements then will re-assess after that, of course if we are settled and love it we will stay but hubby has been to Brisbane and loved it there. We will have to see where we end up but looking at it all as an adventure so who knows.

  6. hi nissa thanks for your help and reply. We already have a positive skills assessment back from acts as TRA do not do a skills assessment for cabinet makers we have just put a experience points test into the TRA as adviced by our agent so we have been informed we can put an EOI while waiting for this just wondered if anyone knew how long this would take ?

Oh I see ok, for ours its TRA only that we needed before we can submit our EOI - ours is in now and state sponsorship applied for so just need to hear from them which we hope will only be a week or two as they are coming back really quick according to our agent and because we are going on a 489 visa you automatically get invited to put your application in apparently so it's all happening very quickly since the TRA came back.

i certainly hope you get a response quicker from TRA - the waiting is awful isn't it , good luck with it all xx

  7. We lodged ours 7th March so hopefully not too much longer, we had a positive TRA previously but it expired so had to do a new application, we submitted our previous TRA certificate number to assist the application but still waiting to hear from them. My husband is a Gasfitter.

    regards

  8. Thank you, it's a sunny day here in Southampton, cold but dry and sunny at the moment, yes my house is looking a bit like a florists today! I'm sat pondering if this is going to be my last Mother's Day in the uk, here's hoping eh Happy Mothers Day to every mum xx

  9. Go Matilda, not the cheapest out there but they are brilliant in what they do, they have taken all the stress away, Marina Towner is your contact there and I do not have any negative comments about this company only good comments.

Whoever you you decide to go with good luck with your visa process!!
