  1. Lodged on 10th August, contacted for the first time on September 23rd and second time on Nov 20th. Info was sent for the first time on September 29th and November 30th for the second. Both the times it was basic info and not something that took a lot of time to submit. Now waiting for the final word.

Seems to be taking forever aye!

Gosh I am still waiting man & praying

  2. Uk11 My timeline is very similar to yours. I lodged my visa 189 8th September, CO assigned 13th October, Medicals, PCC + Form 80 uploaded on 26th October and now i'm waiting. I actually phoned them to ask roughly what the process was now and they stated that it takes up to 3 months to be process from receiving a case officer which will bring us up to mid January so I wouldn't worry. Hope that puts your mind at rest.

Hopefully they process it in this month!

My agent wrote to the dept. to get an update, lets see what the outcome is.

  3. Hey,

So when you're looking to use a migration agent use an approved one - off the government site! That's extremely important.

Secondly, there are pros and cons and in my experience, which is ongoing, i would say this is what I have found so far:

    1) A reputable migration can actually be a help when getting a job as organisations spoke to my lawyers and confirmed my visa situation, thus getting me a job - incredibly helpful in my career!

    2) They're extremely thorough and look over everything, then give you the chance to look at it to confirm before sending it off to the department. This ensures everything is done correctly and swiftly, without any hiccups.

    3) They have solutions to problems that arise, for example I was in the midst of having my Grad visa granted but at the same time potentially my residency, they were smart enough to wait it out and get the grad visa granted, then wait for the pending residency. Basically it was smart because it didn't mean my residency may have came through and then my grad visa would have overridden it - could you imagine that! lol

That's my input and to be bluntly honest, the only disadvantage/con is the price you pay - it is astronomical.

  4. Hey I'm new - so hi!

Applied for Visa 189, got asked for 'proof of study' which my lawyer already had and then also my medicals.

Called up Bupa, they said they've lodged them with the Department on the 26th October and they were all clear.

This waiting for a response is killing me, as i'm sure its frustrating for the rest of you guys too.

Spent an hour+ on the phone to immi and my lawyers.. all telling me to wait.
