Oh my word guys. The day has come.  After nearly seven months of agonising waiting (close to break down at some stages!) our visa has finally been granted. I am in complete and utter shock. I hope with all my heart that you all receive the good news you are waiting for soon as I know from experience that it is so hard hearing if someone else's grant when you are still waiting for your own.  Much love and thanks for all the support and words of empathy of the past few months.  I will visit regularly to watch the rest come in ?

awesome news!! chuffed to bits for you, good luck with the next part of your journey!!

  2. Hi please could you help us, we have been told by a migration company that my wife's qualifications (BA hons Psychology, PGCE and teaching experience) are suitable for a schedule 2 189 skilled visa, however at the same time we had applied to a second migration company who have advised us our only option would be an employer sponsored 457 visa.

Is this usual practice? Does anyone have experience of this or any advice for us please?

  3. Hi im looking for some advice please, i'm a qualified hairdresser with over 20 years experience in UK. I am qualified in most aspects of hairdressing but have specialised in Gents barbering more recently.

I am trained in cut throat razor and towel treatments etc.

I'm wondering if this type of work is in demand in Australia?

My family and I would like to move either to the Kingscliff area of NSW or Perth.

I would aloso like to know what the wages are like, and also rents, medical cover and school fees.

    Any information would be great.

    many thanks.

  4. Hi,

Im sorry to bother you, I am in the very early stages of applying for a visa for Australia and therefore I won't be able to apply for the job, but I was looking for some advice.

I am a qualified hairdresser, and have completed several courses at Vidal Sassoon and Tony and Guy, however I specialise in Gentlemans haircuts and also trained in wet shaving with cut throat razor, and hot and cold towel treatments. I was wondering how much demand there was in Australia for these skills and how difficult it would be to find work.

I am planning a holiday in April to Australia and will be staying with friends in Kingscliff New South Wales. Im sure you get plenty of requests such as this but if you could spare the time to offer some advice I would be very greatfull.

    Many thanks
