I strongly suggest you from my real experience: call them at 825~830am every single weekday, u may be in the queue within first 30 callers ( two weeks ago, one Friday was 21st)

That's ok - I sucked it up and waited. About an hour all up! Was busy doing other things on the computer while I waited. Turns out they sent an email months ago requesting a couple of additional details but I must have missed it!

    Thanks for your help :)

Hi unicornlover, once application submitted, it won't change before the ceremony. You should call DIBP on 131 880 to ask a Customer Service representative about your application proress.

Thanks for this - Im just calling now... im position 118 in the queue (!!!) so i guess thats my afternoon gone!

  3. Hey Peeps...

My visa was approved today :)

    Nomination Applied: 21st April 2015

    Nomination Approved: June 18th 2015

    Visa Applied: June 18th 2015

    Visa Approved: Nov 5th 2015

Best of Luck to you all xxx

  4. So I've been wondering about the fact that I did my visa application only once my nomination was received.

Some people seem to think it extends processing time while others seem to think its random. Are their guideline processing times calculated from when the Nomination Application is submitted or from when the PR Visa Application is submitted?

Just trying to figure out my 'worst case' scenario :)

  5. :arghh:

Lived in the Kimberlies for 12 years and only 1 4wd in 50 was a Landy...Too exxy on fuel, spares etc.

    Cheers, Bobj.

Hahaha... clearly that ^^^ is why Im not the one responsible for cars in our household! Although I do see a fair few Landys around here and the 100 series sell really quickly. But as long as its got 4 wheels and aircon I leave the rest to my other half :)

Living in the Kimberleys must have been incredible? Is it as amazing as people say? I have never been but my expectations are pretty high!

  6. I wish, I am waiting until I am fit enough and then will get @Bobj to extend our next road trip lol. Mind you we need another 4x4 as this one we have i wouldnt fancy taking on a long trip.

Nice! I see you are in Cairns so that would be a nice drive over the top and down through the Kimberleys and Broome :) 100 Series Landcruisers seem to be the tank of choice... they just keep going and are apparently easy to maintain with a little mechanical knowledge :)

  7. The beaut Pilbara. Lived there in the 70's, building the Tom Price-Paraburdoo and Robe River railroads, and had a few visits in the 60's while working for the Main Roads. As @The Pom Queen says, such a lovely area.

A bit hot at times...:wink:I remember a little story of an old an old bloke meeting the Devil; he says to Beelzebub, "You can't scare me with Hell, mate, I lived in Marble Bar".

    All the best,

    Cheers, Bobj.

I drove the Karratha-Tom Price Road a couple of weeks ago... love that drive, some amazing scenery that rail line goes through over The Ranges.

Definitely gets a bit cosy up here in the summer! Its winter now though so a bit chilly (28 degs) with a nice crisp wind :)

  8. Hi All,

Brand-spanking-new to this forum. I'm mid-application under the 457 Transition Scheme and I guess like most people wondering how much longer I need to plan to twiddle my thumbs :) Status on my ImmiAccount says 'Application Received'...

    Nomination Approved: 18th June

    PR Visa Applied: 18th June

    Medicals Completed: 22nd June

Medical Results Received & Processed: 1st July

    Visa Approved: TBC

Haven't figured out how to add this to my signature :)
