Just received the Visa today
-
Ha ha nothing actually they are really nice. But as a winters day here is comparable to a nice sunny day in the UK, I can't see me wearing them any time soon ( or the gloves I bought)
-
I posted a few scarves not so long ago. They are now are sitting uselessly in my wardrobe lol

I walk round in shorts and t shirt 12 months a year. But my Aussie wife is always shivering lol

Hi all,
I'm currently on bridging visa A ( since about August) for an onshore marriage visa. I haven't heard a word from the immigration people. I was wondering how long is normal.
-
Anyone know the rough cost?
-
Mine came back instantly as soon as I submitted the application ( by e mail)

Sorry to hijack thread guys. But if abc is a public channel like bbc how can I find it? I wanted to watch the fireworks and obviously couldn't. I watch GG through an Optus fetch box. Help much appreciated

Was initially interested then after reading further that waned slightly lol.

What city is he coming to?

I've recently arrived in Sydney . All my experience is in retail and hospitality management. I applied for two jobs and was offered them both. So jobs are about.

I agree you may find your oh does not want to return if you do. I have seen it happen to friends. Also obviously you are apprehensive so you are going to pick up on a lot of things you will not like when you come to live here. Living in Aus is not living in the UK, its completely different, everything is different, the only similarity is we speak the same language. From fish and chips to bacon and many other things, people do not like. The way we drive and overtake and tailgate and do all sorts of awful stuff just some of the things people do not like. If you come with an open mind and do not want UK with sun you will like it but if you want UK with sun you won't.
Omg lol the tailgating here drives me insane! Also what's with the refusal to move over for people coming down a slip road!!

I'm in Ingleburn a suburb of Sydney. I've found every time I pop in the local pub for a beer I'm beating off chatty locals with a stick

we've now spoken to two different immigration people and they've said you can cancel the visa. however it's not cancelled as such but if you purchase another visa for a shorter period of time whilst in the UK and online - the new visa overrides the old visa. seems too easy and must be a catch somewhere..?
Well must be ok if 2 different immigration people have repeated the same information. Don't forget though he will need to stay parked in Oz for 3 months or it will renew again. Also my bridging visa tells me not to leave the country without getting permission as this may cancel the visa.

I had a similar problem although not for such a long period of time. When I called immigration and asked if I could cancel my tourist visa so the bridging visa kicks in they told me it wasn't possible. Luckily after staying for 3 months and 1 day I will " break" the 12 month tourist visa and the bridging visa kicks in. ( Immigrations words not mine) so I'm kicking back and watching Netflix till August

Never been so not had the pleasure lol. Ingleburn seems ok so far. We rent one of those villa thingies down a quiet cul-de-sac so apart from yapping dogs it's nice and quiet. I'm lucky as my wife is an Aus and knows the area really well.

Good Luck,
I have pretty much given up trying to make friends here, no one wants to know. Im 48 and don't have small children, they are grown up adults now, so meeting new mum's at the school gate is long gone. I have tried really hard here, the local library for new meet's and nothing. Don't get me wrong people are friendly enough when you talk to them, but missing that special friend is really starting to get to me. I don't work, at the moment (trying to get a job), and that's another matter. I hate the suburb where we are living its awful, sorry I don't mean to whinge but this is how I feel.
Sorry to hear that. I've not really been out too much at the minute. Able to work from Aug 25th so just started job hunting. What suburb are you living in?

Should of got here earlier lol. My wife and stepdaughter are in Ingleburn
