  1. Hi guys!! Today is finally my day and I'm beyond ecstatic to share this great news with all of you! Each and every one of you has been such a tremendous support to me and there's simply no words to sum up how much this forum has helped me get by everyday. Good luck to all – and trust me, it's worth the wait at the end of the day.

    Nomination Lodged: 09 March 2015

    Nomination Granted: 11 June 2015

    Visa Lodged: 25 May 2015

    Visa Granted: 07 October 2015

    No further documents requested

    Processing centre: Team 1, NSW

    Occupation: Advertising Specialist

WAHOOOOO!!! Congrats Dreylee enjoy it buddy :)

  2. If you're using an MA, he should be responsible for keeping you updated every step of the way. If you haven't heard from him, it's probably safe to say that you haven't been assigned to a CO. Best you could do is just wait. If it's any consolation, once you are assigned a CO and there are no additional documents required, your grant will be almost immediate – application received to finalised straight away.

Dreylee have they asked you for additional docs or havent you heard anything still?

  3. Why did you need 2 attempts?

I was on a NZ Citizien Family Relationship Visa and with this visa you dont have to complete a skills assessment via direct entry if you have been working for your nominating employer for 2 years when application is lodged. I was 14 days short and thought you just had to be working for 2 years at the time the visa was granted. Costly error!

  4. Where is your processing centre?

    Processing centre is VIC PESE

Dreylee - you should send them an email, put your application number in the heading and ask for an update regarding your DECISION READY application. I did that then suddenly PR granted a few days later. I definitely think it makes a difference and your timeline is so close to mine.

  5. I was thinking... My MA applied 22-05 will police checks and medicals completed upfront.

Then things at work didn't look so bright for my partner (on a 457 as well, but completing the 2 years required in a couple of weeks), so we decided to add him to my application after it was already lodged. His documents and proof of defacto relationship were added on 26-06. In the meantime I found more evidence for our relationship and sent it to my MA, who uploaded the last doc on 29-06.

At the moment the last update is 29-06.

Do you think the fact we added my partner at a later stage will slow the application down and they will count the application date as 26-06 instead of 22-05? My partner's acknowledgment letter figures the date of 22-05 as application date.

No this wont impact anything - I was still adding document in July after lodging the application in May and my application is currently being assessed.

  6. Hey kaylesmith17,

Do you heard anything from MA/immi?

I believe, you and dreylee will get PR, if so then Lukesam & me not too far :)

    Hey

I didn't use MA but still nothing has changed just application received. I think there are a few before me waiting in the May queue.

I think they have slowed down and it's more of a 4 month wait now rather than 3/3.5 months

If you dont mind me asking... what was your occupation? and high or low risk country?

  8. thought I would update you on my epic fail of a 186 visa!

So today I had to withdraw my nomination and application due to not fulfilling the 2 years required- this was an honest mistake as I was not aware my previous visa didnt count and I applied a little early so I wasnt overstaying.

So I have been informed I should have applied for an extension on my 457 to allow the 2 years to be completely finished seperate of my 417. I have no filed my case with an MA. My biggest problem is 28 days from today I will go on to bridging visa C- this has no work rights. This is going to have to be argued due to my profession in rural area. It has been a hugely costly error, in terms of both time and error. My MA assures me this happens more than we would like to know! SO luckily I withdrew before it was refused. So here goes the waiting game all over again!!!!!

I know all too well what this feels like mate. I applied direct entry scheme but applied for an exemption for skills assessment. One of the conditions were that you had to have worked for your employer for a period of 2 years excluding any unpaid leave. I applied 2 weeks too early and realised within 10 mins of submitting the application so withdrew immediately but they wouldnt refund me the application fee.

I resubmitted my application and am still waiting to hear back but am now really nervous as I didnt use a MA so I pray that I calculated the unpaid leave right and that I have met the 2 year mark now. Its a sickening feeling though but at least you realised before refused. I am suprised they didnt refuse you straight away - seems strange they asked for additional docs and began processing?
