  1. No Complications I am Australian Citizen never overstayed in Australia or any other country has permanent Job Wife is applying for Australian Visa for the first time she never overstayed in any other country.

All additional documents required in September were submitted to AHC within 4 days of request. Still no response

Thats frustrating! My wife had her interview at the end of November. We have been waiting since then. AHC havent even asked us for any additional documents. Don't know why they're taking so long to finalize cases.

  2. Do many people have interviews? I wasn't expecting one....hoping not to have one!

Most applicants do have interviews. One of the applicant I know applied at the start of June, had interview at the start of this month and was granted visa in a weeks time after the interview. Your interview might be near too. The interview isn't hard. They ask general questions relating to how you two met, your future plans and etc.

  3. I agree that the AHC have been taking more time of late to finalize the application. I applied for my wife's visa on 3rd May 2015, and we are still waiting on the interview call. And having seen your cases, I am wondering how long it would take after the interview to get the visa grant. Even though I am hoping its not, but looks like a long waiting time lies ahead.

Did AHC contact you two as well for an interview or just your wives?

  4. I am australian citizen, my wife applied for partner visa on 22 april 2015, had interview 3 months ago, submitted additional documents.

I called AHC 4 weeks ago, they reply it is ready for final decision

Any chance that senior migration officer has initiated length checks etc. What is normal response after moving to final decision? thank for your response

    Hi ghaffarahmed,

    Did you apply online?

  5. Hello Dear Members,

i am really worried about my visa application. As I applied for spouse visa sub class 309 on 12 apr 2015. Biometrics were done after few days. Since then I have not recieved any call or email for medical or further documents required by Australian high commission. I have applied online through immi account. It's almost 6 months .. But I have not seen any progress in my application status. It's APplication Recieved on immi account.

    Hi Bushrahaad,

You have done everything on your part. There is no standard way of dealing with applications, therefore don't stress out. Unfortunately we cannot do much about the wait time except to wait patiently. Even if you try calling the AHC, they will say that the CO will get in touch if they need anything. Having said that, you can always give it a try and contact them regarding your application. You'd be lucky if you get a different reply to their standard response.

  6. Hi All,

I have noticed there are no updates for some time, is there any grants recently?

    Regards

I suppose everyone is just waiting patiently. I applied online on 3rd May 2015. Biometrics done on 10/05 and medicals completed on 27/05. Haven't received any updates since then. What is your timeline? And did you apply online or sent a paper application?

  7. Thanks aussiegirlbay I just wanted to contact them because AHC ISB do not seem to care the way they talk and other members on the forum have at least got an interview call or CO assigned to them my wife visa medical was submitted in jan 2015 and will expire in 12 months she will have to travel for 7 hours each way to the closes medical center considering the fact AHC ISB did do any thing to the application.

It seems that the AHC Isl are taking more time to assess online applications as compared to paper based application, which in my opinion is unfair. The fee paid for both the applications is the same and therefore the processing standards should be the same too. I have seen people who have sent a paper application get visas within 5 months, but am yet to see anyone who has applied online to get a visa within that time frame. This prioritizing of paper based application should be noted on their website so that people applying for these visas make an informed decision as to what kind of application to send.
