Finally got through at about 1.15. Didn't think the phone call went that well and was expecting to have to chase more information. Woke up at 4.30 and checked our immi account and we've received our grant!!!!!
-
I never did get an email reply from my CO, if you have queries your best calling them.
I might try try calling them tonight. Don't want to mess things up though by being over eager. Especially as we have an agent.

I did the carpentry one and it was a doddle. If you are an experienced brickie you will cruise through it.
They are just trying to fish out the chancers.

 Our c/o is asking for information that they've already got in our application as far as we are concerned. Our agent has emailed them but they don't seem to rush their reply. More waiting
-
Case officer contacted us today requesting more information. Basic stuff so hopefully won't have to wait much longer now. At least our ball has started rolling.

VISA GRANTED TODAY!!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :jiggy:
Congratulations. You lodged the same day as us. Did you have any contact before your grant? What was your application status saying leading up to it? Ours still says application received and we've still had no contact. Hating the waiting
-
Just rang them. All they could tell me was that we haven't been assigned a case officer yet and we just have to wait :sad::sad::sad:

Visa granted this morning:wink:, good luck to those waiting. Just the house to sell now and maybe a trip in August to activate visa's and have a good look round.
Thats great news, congratulations.
We we lodged the day before you and I'm a carpenter so I'll be hoping to hear soon. Did you just get a direct grant with no contact before?
-
Everyone gets a Case Officer, but you will only hear from them if they need more information.
How do you know if you've been assigned a case officer?

Hey PIO's
We lodged our 189 visa ourselves on May 12th, we've had medicals and police checks carried out in May also, we were allocated a Case Officer on June 30th; How long did the rest of you wait to have your visa granted after this point please?
TIA,
Mel
We lodged the same day as you. Not heard anything yet, but I thought that was good as you only get a case officer if they need additional information. Otherwise it's a direct grant.
I'm thinking we won't hear for a few more weeks yet being as some that lodged in April still haven't been granted.

The waiting is killing us. We lodged on 12th May, are we likely to hear something this week? We've no idea how long we are likely to have to wait. Heard nothing up to yet
-
Passed our medicals, just waiting for police checks to come back. We did them online 2 weeks ago.
-
Bank holiday probably slowing ours down. Should be today or tomorrow.
-
We had our medicals last Friday. Does anybody know how long it takes before they upload the results?
-
Does the "year" start again in July?
-
We are looking to head out beginning of September.

Our visa is being lodged today. Married couple going to Perth to be with our family who emigrated 3 years ago. Got the invite 5 weeks before 45th birthday, phew.
-
Invitation received today
Us too
-
Does anybody know when they announce the date of the next invitation rounds for May? Getting impatient.
-
Looks like we will get our invite next round. The waiting is driving us mad.
Anybody know now what date the next round of invites is?
-
Heard nothing today from my agent. 60 points, submitted 25th March.
-
Anybody had an invite today? If so, how many points and how long have you waited?
-
Everyone is having to wait 4 weeks with 60 points, they don't even look at your occupation at this stage unless it is on the pro-rata list (accountants and software engineers). As I understand it, it's a case of inviting all the 65+ points people first, then any remaining spaces are filled with people with 60 points with the ones who applied first getting priority. I applied 3.5 weeks ago and they are running at a 4 week wait time so next round I will be on 5 weeks and should hopefully be in.
As for the time, it's midnight Thursday/Friday in Canberra, but bear in mind they have just switched for daylight saving so you might need to do a few sums to work out what time it'll be where you are. It was 1pm England but now it's 3pm as we moved forward and they moved backwards, so we're 2 hours closer. TL:DR 3pm Thursday afternoons.
Thanks.

Our EOI went in on 26th March.
Go Matilda

I'd just like to share my experience with my migration agent to maybe help any future visa applicants.
We we decided to try and migrate back in November. At the time we knew very little about the points system. We contacted an agent called Peter Chiam as our son used him to migrate 3 years ago. He informed us about the points system, and decided we wouldn't have enough time to get a 189 visa before my 45th birthday in June, and our only other option was a parent visa which would cost us $90000 each.
We were devastated. I decided to ring a couple of other agents and spoke to someone at Go Matilda. They thought we had a good chance of getting everything sorted in time as long as there were no slip ups.
I managed to to pass the IELTS test first time with scores of 9,9,9,8 which gave us enough points to apply for a 189. I can't say it's all been easy, and I don't think we would have been able to sort it all out in the time we had. Marina Towner and her team at Go Matilda have been impeccably efficient and helpful all the way through to our visa grant yesterday.
So, to anybody considering using an agent, I can highly recommend Go Matilda. A massive thanks to them from us.
