For your question - it is when she has been physically present in Australia, the grant date is irrelevant.

                      Yes thats what i thought,So if Her visa was granted May 2015 and she entered the Country June 2016 it means she has till May 2020 to travel to Australia and then will have to stay the balance of the 2 years ,which is 7 months ,after which she can apply for her 155 RRV.

My mum was granted her Contributory Parent Visa(Subclass 143) on the 25th of May 2015.Since then she has visited Australia 3 time with a total of 17 months resident time, her first entry being in September 2016.

She has just returned back and is not planning on travelling again this year.Plan is to travel next year in April 2010 and then stay for the balance 7 months and apply for the 155 RRV Visa which will give here another 5 year Travel validity.

As per the Immi Website it states the following,

• If you have lived in Australia for 2 years (730 days) in the last 5 years as a permanent resident or former citizen or former permanent resident, then you meet what is known as the residence requirement and might be given a 5 year travel validity on your visa.
• If you have not lived in Australia for 2 years in the last 5 years as a permanent resident or former citizen or former permanent resident, then you might be given a maximum of 12 months travel validity on your visa if you can demonstrate substantial ties that are of benefit to Australia. Check the substantial ties documents you need to provide under Step by step, Gather your documents.

My Question is regarding the Residence requirement ,Is the "Lived in Australia for 2 years  in the Last 5 Years requirement applicable from the Visa Grant date or from the Date of First Entry?
