  1. I have uploaded all additional documents and shared all info asked by CO today. Got auto reply stating that I will receive next update/reply to my email within next 7 working days..

any idea , in reality how much time is taken by CO to grant visa or seek more info once additional info is provided ?

Hey Sandip, I received notification of request for additional docs on 14/4. I uploaded and emailed the Adelaide team with the details on 20/4 and received a reply and our grant notification today (29/4).

Funnily enough, when we got up this morning - my hubby said "I think we will get an email today!!" Sure enough at 12:50pm there it was!

  2. Congratulations Liseylooau! well done....You must be delighted!

Unfortunately I am at the opposite end of the spectrum, my levels of frustration have reached new heights!

I applied on the 16th Feb, front end loaded all docs including Meds and PCC. After 72 days I have not received any contact from case officer or even better a direct grant!

Just got off the phone with the GSM people in Adelaide (13 18 81); I was on hold for 1hour and 17mins basically told me not to call back until after 3months.

I asked her was there anyway to check if the application had fallen through the cracks - received a blunt NO....So biting my tongue I thanked her and hung up.

    Mental breakdown draws closer!

I really feel your pain. The not knowing is a killer - can't understand why you haven't heard anything yet, What does your Immi account say?

  3. I struggled with writing, I am a prolific comma/exclamation mark user. I found ITELTS T20 on twitter amazing. It really helped me to secure the key concepts (particularly with the reading part - True/False/Not Given!)

    Good Luck.

Pretty sure you are ok to fill out the EOI - just don't submit until you secure your points! x

  4. Hi all,

I have never posted before but I am looking for a little help. I have been putting together an application for Immigration for over a year now. I am a fully qualified Secondary Teacher and I have successfully had my skills approved by AITSL. For my IELTS (I had to sit it 3 times) I got L.8, W.8.5, S.8.5 and R.7 - this results in my English being proficient. I am currently sitting at 55 points but after 5 more months I will have 3 years experience as a teacher and will attain 5 more points, increasing my overall points score to 60 - whoo hoo - My questions are:

Is my IELTS score high enough for skilled migration?

Will 60 be enough for a secondary school teacher 189 visa or do I need to try and attain more points?

Does it matter what my secondary teacher subject specialist is, i.e. is there a higher priority for English teachers over PE for example?

Are there any other teachers out there that have achieved successful migration as it seems impossible?

I am struggling a bit with the red tape and feel like my dream is very hard to reach at the moment.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Speedo

I have just been granted 189 today as a Secondary teacher. It has been pretty straight forward all in all. Is doing your IELTS again an option to gain the extra 10 points? This will give you 65 then and you will probably get an invitation quicker.

  5. I'm guessing it is just a case of waiting until the CO is able to look at your application again. I sent across my UK Police check 9 days ago (2 days after it was requested by CO) and am yet to hear anything further. I had provided everything else before CO was allocated. Fingers crossed they look at it soon...

Did you CO look at it yet? I sent my additional things on 20th and checking emails daily :-//

  6. There is a public holiday in Australia this weekend for ANZAC day. If we dont get some news tomorrow we may not hear anything until next Tuesday; hope I am wrong...

Heres hoping Day 66 is the lucky day for both of us Sandip :-)

    Positive vibes.....

The holiday is Saturday - so shouldn't affect grants too much (unless there is an ACT or WA team) Fingers crossed to for hearing soon!

  7. Hi,

Think I am just getting myself tied in knots...

Can anyone confirm, does the degree certificate you upload to immi need to be certified? If it is a colour copy of the original does this bypass this?

Just thinking it's a little bit of a faff, to make the journey by bus with my little man to the city centre (which will turn into lunch and toys too) just to certify one document!

    Thanks

My agent told me I needed to get mine certified

  8. Woohoo! Case officer assigned! Form 80 requested for both of us and military details for my hubby. Omg just looked at firm 80, how can anyone get all that information??! I feel sick just reading it.

Yey! At last!!! I looked at the form 80 and I think you just need to do it to "the best of your knowledge". At least you have your CO and its a step in the right direction towards the golden ticket! I think my heart literally paused for a few seconds when I saw it in the inbox!! We know what you will be up to this weekend!! xx

  9. I think it took about 8weeks for the AITSL to come back, I sent it around 18th Nov and got it back just before I submitted EOI. Good luck, its a very nervous wait! I found the worst bit was receiving an email to say....we have completed your assessment and the result is in the post!! The postal service is somewhat slow here to say the least....it would have been quicker to send it to the UK! Is your partner doing IELTS or anything?

    (PS I changed my Username!)

  10. I'm pretty positive you will hear before the weekend Pinkestlady....we got assigned a CO from Adelaide team yesterday (14/4) and have a request for additional info - (another PCC and AFP due to my parents spelling my name on my birth certificate ending with an A not an E then proceeding to spell it with an E for the rest of my life!!!) I had totally forgotten about this until after lodgement and PCC/AFP's were conducted and uploaded so the Ozzie one is done and on the way, just hoping paying 89pounds means that the UK one will land on my Mums mat tomorrow!

  11. Another direct grant here.... Soooo happy the wait is over, now the stress of packing and moving next month can commence!!

my hubby submitted on 13th Feb and we front loaded everything, did the usual daily checks and no case officer allocated, this morning then golden email came and the IMMI account has our family grants!!

Fingers and toes crossed for everyone else, hope you all heat something soon xx

Huge Congratulations!! I am trying very hard to refrain from checking emails but its so hard!!!! Did you you submit Form80? Where you heading?

  12. Redcliffe/Scarborough (Scarborough front is very pretty) are nice although they are not your 'idyllic' postcard beaches that you see. Then you are not far from Bribie which has a gorgeous surf beach and a lovely calm side. Redcliffe would also be a nightmare to commute from if you were to drive, there is a train station due there soon but it would be a long commute to the city. We are 20mins from Redcliffe & 35mins from Bribie & 50mins from Caloundra. Love it. Feel free to message me with ant questions x

  13. I haven't yet but will be soon.

In terms of Oz, I'm sure people may have questions when they're visa is hopefully granted. I'm thinking in terms of planning for the big move! Where do you start?!

Have you decided if you will bring a container or if you will start a fresh?

where are you planning on settling?
