Applied through company MA 2nd May 2017, granted today

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me with a query. Currently have an application for ens 186 lodged through the company MA, have been working here for 2 1/2 years on my 457.
At the point of employer nomination being checked do they re-check the occupation list, as my current visa category now has a caveat since the changes in July 2017 that I cannot meet, my application was lodged in May but I have had no notification that it is with a case officer yet.

Just been informed, ours came through approx 30 mins ago! looks like we will fly Friday
Hang in there everyone else, hope it doesn't take as long as ours

My perception of what they should be doing and what they actually do appear to be very different

From http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Pages/our-telephone-numbers.aspx
Telephone: 131 881
This number is only available if you are phoning from in Australia. If you are outside Australia and want to make an enquiry please contact the relevant Australian Immigration office overseas.
Which eventually leads you through to the European Service Centre numbers: http://www.immi.gov.au/Help/Locations/Pages/Service-centres/europe-service-centre.aspx
Thanks for that, already tried it a while ago. I would have had more success driving there and banging on the front door.

I've read that for a 457 visa, information can only be provoded via email. There isn't any information provided over the phone.
Yeah I tried the email route and all I got told was its in progress and updates can't be given due to all applications being done on a case by case basis

I'm in the UK so I'm not calling, and I'm certainly not spending an hour waiting on hold... boy you're keen!
I just had an email from my MA saying he's expecting to receive an update shortly, "hopefully in the next couple of days".
My app was lodged on 23 December, so Friday would make 20 working days (more or less) since then.
I have given up with my MA now, originally lodged on the 12th November, more info needed and returned on the 8th of December and we have heard nothing since.
We are at 36 working days as of today!!!

Did anyone tried callig immi yesterday or today? I have been calling since yesterday on 131881 but no response, since last week, once I select the options I was told my place in the queue and usually after an hour my call gets answered but I am not getting to know my place in the call queue when I am calling today, has anyone experienced the same.
Rad28, is it possible to call this number from outside Oz, and will they actually give you an update when you do get to speak to someone??
-
Congrats all that got theirs, fingers crossed for the rest of us!!!
-
Glad to see some people getting some progress, wish some of it was our end, we are still waiting since November.

For anyone who hasn't already sussed it, you can create an "immiAccount" online, then "import" your existing application into your account using the TRN.
Then you can log in daily to check the status, only to see that absolutely nothing has changed...
Register at http://www.immi.gov.au/Services/Pages/check-progress-online-application.aspx
Does anyone know if there's a way to also check your nomination? I tried importing my nomination TRN as well but it didn't like it.
Does this have any affect on the MA ability to see the application?

Heading over on a 457 which also sponsors the wife and kids, meaning my 17 yr old daughter wants a part time job.
What happens with the tax, is there a earning threshold for 457 visa, will be pay tax on everything she earns?
Does she need to submit a tax return?
-
Any updates?
No updates from my application yet, basically just been told to wait
-
Does anybody know how quickly a 457 visa can go through from finding a sponsor to moving? Also does the company apply for the visa on your behalf?
thanks
I can only speak from my experience, but my company have done the application through a migration agent, we just had to provide personal information.
As for timescales I was told 3 - 5 weeks, however the Immi timescales state 75% will be done in 2 months from a low risk country, as it stands today we have been waiting 9 weeks with no sign of the finalised visa as yet
-
Just had an email from my MA saying the only way to contact immi is via email, I think he may be having me over as people have stated they have called them.
I will wait until tonight and then try and phone myself to get some answers
-
Stated service time is 2-3 months, but my MA reckons it is usually much less than this.
Guess it depends on whether everything goes smoothly or not.
My company say that usually they have them back within 3 weeks, a colleague applied for hers a couple of weeks before me, and got to fly out mid Dec!!!!!
-
anyone got theirs yet?
Nope still waiting
-
I am a little glad to hear we are in a similar boat, we have pretty much sold everything and the house is due to be handed over at the end of the week as we will fly as soon as the visa is granted, I was supposed to start work yesterday!!!
i was starting to get worried that there was something wrong but if it's not just us that is suffering the wait
-
Hey, new here
we had our application lodged by my employers agent on the 12th November, got asked for info for the case officer in mid December which went back straight away and yet have still not heard anything. The company have already had visa granted for other employees so I am assuming there is nothing wrong there although I am starting to worry now!
