  1. Hi Ben,

my husband and I live in Campbelltown, we are in our 40s and have grown up children but are happy to meet other couples in the area. If you'd like the company of an English couple PM me. My hubby works in construction in Sydney and I'm an OT seeking work still. We've been here since October 2015, so it's still new.

  2. Hi there, I have started my Visa application with a company,I should have all my documents with them by early Feb,I am 45 in July 2016. Could anybody please tell me if time is on my side, if my EOI is already on the desk of the people involved?. I would be grateful of any input . Thanks.

Hi, I was 44 when we started ours and I got it within 10 months that included 4 weeks close down for Christmas period. It would have been quicker but I had to wait for an IELTS test place & the results. It could be done if everything's in place. Stay positive. FYI 2 weeks here & my husband got sponsored by a company, depending on your job it might also be worth looking at. You can also get a visa after you're 45 you just have to play the system & have a good agent.

  3. Hi I'm traveling to AUS in October on a WHV, I'm looking to obtain a white card in the UK before I travel so I can get work quicker, anyone know the best place to obtain a white card?

    Thanks in advance

Hi, not sure if you'd definitely need this. What job you looking to do? My husband has worked in construction for nearly 3 decades in the UK has a 457 visa for Sydney & works for a tier 1 company. He doesn't have this card.

  4. Hi,

We are new to Australia, as we arrived in January. We are looking to make friends in and around the Campbelltown area. We have 2 girls aged 3 and 5 and would love to meet and make new friends. Originally from Yorkshire, but spent last 8 years in Scotland.

Hi, I live in Campbelltown with my hubby, grown up kids in the uk but would be willing to meet up for a coffee in MacArthur Square shopping centre if you're interested? PM me if you're still looking for a social. We moved here October 2015 from North Yorkshire.

  5. Hi Julie,

We are just coming to the end of our 6 year slog to get in to Oz. We used a great agent based in Cheshire called The Emigration Group, these were the second people we approached to help us with our visa as we were informed back in 2009 by an Oz agent we would not get in (like you we had very late night chats and costs incurred to send money over). Due to our age and jobs (I'm an OT and my husband is in construction) we too struggled and after advice have got a 489 regional sponsorship visa for Orana region in NSW.

I believe what we paid for our agency (£3,500 approx; initial consultation to see if we had the possibility to emigrate was £125) was money well worth spending. We will be moving this summer to Oz a dream we have had for 6 years.

    Good luck, Lisa G
