  1. Got an email this morning for some extra Docs including a statutory declaration. Luckily my ship was in port near London at the time so I wrote the stat dec and was able to jump on the train (30 mins) to go to the Australian High Commission to get it certified. In and out in 5 mins and back to my ship! Easy!

Good to hear there's been some movement. What docs did you need CaptainC? Is it mandatory you have to go to the Aus High Commission in London? I'm in Cyprus with work and not back until October!

  2. Hi! We were told by our emigration visa agent it is currently taking around 3 months for a skilled independent visa so I'm not holding out to hear anything until the end of September! If it comes through earlier then great!! X

I got told by mine they are currently running at 6-8 weeks, who knows eh?! Good luck and fingers crossed its sooner rather than later.

  3. hey @susanbro, I'm sorry to hear you got turned down. The TRA system seems ridiculous to me, I managed to get through it but still.....

i've submitted my 189 application on 8/6 so just waiting now, fingers crossed for both of us.

Keep us updated how you go, I'll probably see it on Facebook first haha!!

  4. Do you fil,tk out online or do you have to print it out and fill it in and scan it all?? Sorry if a stupid question . We've travelled but only on holidays so I'm not sure if we will need to, you are bound to be asked being in raf. Where are you heading?

You need to fill the document out by hand, in pen, it actually specifies that on the form. Heading to Perth, hopefully! How about you? I have declared all holidays etc too, it's horrible scrolling through Facebook looking for when you uploaded photos etc to get specific dates.

    Good luck

  5. Morning CaptainC, I have done a PCC check for the UK and included the dates I was overseas in that one as like I said, banking etc was still in UK. I've also done PCC checks from Cyprus etc for the dates I lived here. My migration agent said not to worry about overlapping PCC's. I've started to fill out the form 80 but it's a bloody nightmare of a form! I'm in the RAF so have been overseas ALOT and I can't remember exact dates!

  6. Morning Smithjed, I lodged yesterday. We've booked medicals but the police checks are throwing a spanner in the works with addresses so going to speak to migration agent today to clarify a few bits. Worked overseas for a few years but was still in the UK for all intents and purposes. Not sure if the police checks overlapping will be an issue.

    How are you getting on?

  7. Thank you CaptainC, at least you tried to offer a light at the end of the tunnel! It's one hell of a drag is this visa malarkey, definitely be worth it in the end though fingers crossed. Hodges, I just received an email, nothing on the immi website still!

  8. There is currently a block on all new GSM visa's being granted, so I suspect that DIBP have taken the decision to cancel the June invitation dates.

I imagine that DIBP don't want to have a huge stockpile of visa applications until the current ones in the system are dealt with. (Possibly because it would distort their processing performance indicators).

The new programme year starts on 1st July so I would imagine that the EOI invitation rounds will start again after that date.

Thank you very much for the info CaptainC. Where do you find out your gen, the immi website seems to be the last place to be updated! It's interesting to note, the last invitation round on 22nd May doesn't appear to have gone ahead either. Bit disappointing but still it's only a few weeks!

  9. First post, hello. I have an elderly client looking to relocate to Melbourne area from Cyprus (Mediterranean). Can anyone recommend a good reliable company that will handle the entire process from start to finish for her. The dogs are her life companions and very important. She needs someone who can take it from the stage of initial rabies injections (here) through qualifying periods, transportation and collection at the Oz end.

Kind thanks in advance and apologies if I am breaching any forum rules by asking for recommendations.

    Morning Tanny,

I am currently in Cyprus myself and looking to ship my two dogs to Perth in Feb. Unfortunately there is only one company based in Paphos that can ship dogs direct to Australia. They are called Paphiakos. There are lots that can do it but its all via the UK then on.
