what did it get turned down on? i went over kill for my brother in laws TRA for solid plaster, just submitted anything i could find with references, courses he had done, plus customers references from the work he has done, pay slips, every employer for his working career..

Hi Stephen, We couldnt trace back his trade papers so had to do the AQF 3 qualification but TRA said they didn't recognise it which is ridiculous as its an Australian qualification lol We only have 4 working days to go so hoping to hear any day now. We fly to Perth on Friday on a 457 so hope this comes back a positive result this time so we can aply straight away for PR xx

Oh wow, so not long to go now for you then! The agent is called James Gordon. He just keeps asking for more information but when we ask for a time frame on when it will be submitted he doesn't reply. We are getting really frustrated but we have already paid out over £1000 so I don't want to go anywhere else. Arghh!! x

I had a lok on the MARA website and there is a James Joesph Gordon of Must Migrate who is registered agent - if this is him I would be threatening to report him to MARA as these timescales are just bloody ridiculous. He should have this done in a few days, not months xx

Hi @Carissa Summers - we are not at week 11 of the 12 week wait so fingers crossed.

As soon as we had the AQF & IELTS in place the TRA was submitted straight away - I'd be a bit concerned as to why, at the end of August, this has still not been done if you have both of them complete??

we have had our employers sponsorship nomination approved last week,just waiting for our approval ,does anyone know the time frame expected ?

Thanks susanbro, that's encouraging to know May I ask if you included the police checks with initial application? Company has simply said they don't ask for as standard for all applicants, so I've been ignoring it for now as it's expensive, and I would need to add another country one from where I lived before if so. Have all the info required with endorsed photo etc to hand already in case they do though.

Hi, my company will be sponsoring me within the next month or so. They are already an approved sponsor so hopefully it will be quick, however, they are also adding my de facto partner to it, so whether or not that affects things remains to be seen. I will update the forum with the progress when the process starts.

For my visa lodged in May, my MA, as helpful as he is, said today that if setup a immi account and linked this to my TRN it would create issues in the department contacting them - im a bit Sceptical about that respone.

When I go into mines it says all correspondence will be sent to my agent and lists her details. I'm not the only person who has done this and no one else has had any problems. It's your application and I'm sure if it caused problems immigration wouldn't allow you to import your TRN xx

Hi Susanbro, I didn't know you could see what docs were uploaded by agent. Did you just create your own immi account and import the TRN from agent?

 

My agent submitted my 457 application on 2 weeks ago, and I'm still waiting to hear. Might ask agent for TRN so I can track the application myself. My employer has sponsored 457 visas before so I hope the process might be relatively smooth.

Yes that's exactly what I did. I emailed her to ask wtf and the email I received in response was quite frankly shocking. 2.5 weeks for her to upload docs which she's had from day 1 is sompletely ridiculous and I've caught her out so now she's having a go at me. The immi account will also show when the visa has been granted, so no need to wait for her to email me xx

Finally got through at about 1.15. Didn't think the phone call went that well and was expecting to have to chase more information. Woke up at 4.30 and checked our immi account and we've received our grant!!!!!

You're not the only one - I'm ina group and seems to be anyone who is phoning and chasing get their grant that same day. Well done!! xx

Can anyone advise on this. Our agent said they uploaded our application decision ready on the 25/6. I didn;t know about the immi account until the 1st July so created it and all that was showing uploaded was both our birth certificates. Checked it religiously for the past 2 weeks and all it as said is Processing' and just the birth certs attached. Was like that this morning but when I checked it this afternoon all of our additional evidence has been uploaded?? Is this our agent just adding our docs?? Thanks x

Hey susanbro, coincidently I actually got my visa granted today I woke up to an email stating I had it which was weird. I'm going to Melbourne if that helps? I largely think it has to do with how complete and thorough the submission is and the demand for that area.....

That's amazing Chris well done You're about 3 weeks ahead of us. If we have to wait 5 weeks rather than 14 then I'm good with that lol xx

Sorry @loftyfreeman that's me just seen your reply. Our skills assessment was failed on 12/05 for a ridiculous reason so we have submitted an appeal which went in on the 27/05 and guess what - we have another 60 day wait for the outcome lol We are currently half way through that wait.

How did you get on? xx

Amazings news that May applications are now being looked at - hopefully a sign of things picking back up. If only there was a 457 tracker that I could follow lol xx

@chris999 what area are you planning to move to as I'm hearing rumours that depending on where you are going also determines how long you wait? I have a friend who is at week 14 for hers, so is very frustrating for her and as I'm only at week 2 now panicking that we may have longer to wait xx

Hi @nobbi & @pomcop, we haven't had the appeal back - we have another 6 weeks to wait for that.

My OH used a company called Skilling Australia who took his work history into consideration , got references etc who they contacted to verify his work history, he completed lots of theory work, similar to an NVQ & then they came up from London to Glasgow and assessed him on the job. In terms of your NVQ I can't answer that question as I don't know - sorry. xx

Its madness @grapple, some people are getting theirs back in 1-2 weeks yet others are waiting months xx

Hi @PomCop he couldnt trace back his trade papers as no record is kept after 10yrs apparently. So he did the AQF 3 which is the Australian equivalent. TRA came back and said they didn't recognise the qualification or the training provider - on both scores this is nonsense lol So wait for the appeal to come back it is xx
