  1. Hi Everyone :)

I think it is time to share some good news.

After 24 months and 11 days my mother is now an Australian Permanent Resident!!!

Lodge data 30th April 2014, CO contact April 6th 2016 ( with a bit of a horror story that took more than 3 weeks to get sorted and was the reason for my disappearance from the forum) next contact to ask for medical and form 80 on May 2nd, 2VAC requested May 10th and Visa Grant May 11th!

Can't explain how happy I am that the journey is finally over and wishing you guys all the best specially my fellow 2014ers, just hang it there it will happen really soon :)

Cheers all and thanks for the support and this great forum that is helping us through the journey!

  2. CO assigned on tuesday (29th march). Asked for form 80 , college enrolment letter and some other documents to prove my dependency.

sent everything on friday, 1st april.

Afterwards No reply yet by immi.

    worried

    Harvi,

I hope you hear from them very soon.

Could you please let me know what documents they asked for/you provided to prove your dependency ( asking as my under-25 yo brother will need the same documents provided)

    Cheers,

    Nassim

  3. No. I was so sure they would start moving ahead after non movement for so long. They will now break their service quality times which is quoted as 18 to 24 months. Apparently they are penalised if have 5% applicants over that. From now on that means every applicant will be over unless they pull their finger out Kim

I say they will move a bit this Friday, say 10 days?

Come on immi you moved through March so fast why is April taking so long?

  4. I have n idea where they got Octber from but they would have to give a different date because they had told us to do our checks so early that they had to change the date our medicals expired on 1 April 2016 so I suppose they thought they would give us an extra six months because not everyone would be ready to go immediately.

    Thanks Linda :)

  5. Oh wow! That's a good move - I'd been doing my calculations based on them only moving 5 days so I'm well chuffed guess we're looking at the 2nd week in March

I guess you will hear from them on the first week. I really hope they will speed up as there should be less applications after the 2nd VAC raise after 22nd March 2014.

    Cheers,

    Nassim

  6. We are currently assessing for finalization applications lodged up to 20 March 2014

Ladies and gentlemen the date has moved another week! Can't complain about the fact that immi is moving much faster than when the date was stuck on 13 Feb!

Doliphin1962 have your docs ready, I guess you have 10 days before they call out your name :))

    Cheers,

  7. As with all things related with immi I am not sure. As a 173 my understanding is that they keep a strict rotation of dealing in order of date lodged. Therefore, 173 and 143 hit CO at the same time but as no AOS then 173 can nip in front of 143 between CO and Grant.

However, as it looks as if new arrangement is going back to the old arrangement!!! Which includes a 28 day deadline from CO to be ready for Grant. Fisher1 has just encountered that little gem of a surprise. The old arrangement has a system of 'pre-calling 143 to say 'go get AOS' which is approx 3 months before immi thinks they will hit CO so then 14/ and 173 are on level field. HarleyPhil had this 'pre-call' - my term for it - but now has been waiting over 3 1/2 months and no CO.

However, my understanding is - I think - hopefully correct is that 173 from Nov 15 don't need meds for the 173 as a temporary visa but do when they then convert to 143 as long as their country is on list - UK is - and have not been given a HAP no yet.

Anyone more knowledgable on this please jump in if got anything wrong. Hope that helps. Kim

    Hmmmm

As among us the only person with the pre-call is HarleyPhil, I wonder if it is just his agent being real smart and arranging perfect timing for him. I think he also got the dates to do meds/police/AOS in his acknowledgement letter just as the rest of us who lodged around that time but his agent decided to wait and ask him to do them closer to time of CO which as I said a very smart move!

That's just me , I could be totally wrong :)

  8. Our lodgement date was 20 Jan 2014 and CO beginning of December but my repeat Xray had to be 3 months after first medical so had to be 20th Jan. The medicals aren't looked at till CO assigned.

    Hi Joyron,

Congratulations on the big news, hope you get your visa right after your VAC payment.

Wondering if you were informed by the medical provider who performed your medicals that you need to repeat Xray? or was it the CO that let you know?

    Cheers,

    Nassim
