I'm excited that a huge chapter in my life is finally coming to an end. I have a 6pm Ceremony so will definitely going for drinks afterwards.

  2. Congratulations Annie.

I have a similar case like you. I uploaded the color copy of my birth certificate but now it seems I can't find the original copies. And I don't have the originals for my interview. Were you not asked for original as I see you passed the test. :)

Hey Sarah, they accepted my colour copy of my birth certificate even though I ordered one. You should be fine ☺

  4. Hi all,

I applied for my birth certificate 2 weeks ago from the UK and haven't received it yet. I am worried as I have my citizenship test tomorrow arvo and I only have a colour certified copy of my original to hand but proof I've ordered a duplicate copy. Do you think this will be an issue? Has anyone else had an issue with this or supply this?

  5. Test date received via email this morning - took 1 week to receive it.

  7. Just went into their offices at central station and that was as much use as a chocolate tea pot. They just told me to ring the call centre!

After 5 months of waiting and 1 month after submitting further info I still do not have an allocated case officer. Is this the same for anyone else? I was asked for more info from a case officer on team 3 parramatta who just said to send it back to the generic email address for the attention of team 1 parramatta!!! I'm getting very annoyed now.

  8. Just had a good chat with Immigration, the guy I spoke to thinks I'm likely only a couple of weeks away from approval as the last bit of info they required was a simple 815 Form.

I asked about the new way in which they assign applications.... As people have previously mentioned on here, no longer is the application assigned to an individual but rather a team (mine is team 7 Perth), there seems to be no time frame once they have requested info, the factors affecting time frame are: number of applications the team is dealing with and complexity of applications.

I have read on here about a 28 day response, but can't see any evidence to suggest? this seems to refer to our response time not Immi.

Therefore I'd say some will be quicker, some will be longer than 28 days depending on complexity of extra docs they have requested.

Although I still reserve the right "to be proven wrong"! :err:

Thanks for this Barney500, it was a great read and I think you asked a few questions that some of us wanted to know the answer for. It's still very vexing with the response time to further submitted documents considering they say within 28 days for us but longer for them - how does that work! I guess when you don't use an MA like us its a little more tidious but we'll get there. At least its in the system somewhere... Just give me it before Xmas and I will be a happy lady!

  9. This is so frustrating as i was hoping to hear back from IMMI today as it has been 28 days since i have submitted further documents and thats what they state in their letter (below). Grrrrr..

"You must respond to this request within 28 days after you are taken to have received this letter. Please send your response to me using the contact details provided in the section Contacting this processing office below. As this letter was sent to you by email, you are taken to have received it at the end of the day it was transmitted.

If you do not reply within the timeframe specified above your application may be decided without the requested information being taken into account. If you are unable to provide this information within this time you should contact Parramatta Permanent Sponsored Entry below."

  10. Quick Update

My application is assigned to: Team 7, Perth Office.

Anyone else assigned at Perth WA?

Also yesterday I was asked to respond direct to email with additional doc, a couple of mins later I received a automated email saying I could expect a response in 5 days! However it seems to me most are waiting after submitting extra doc 2-4wks for any response? What's the deal with 5 day response.

I would also like to know those that have submitted extra docs, were you asked to do this via email or by upload to immi account??

Really appreciate any feedback, extra info really helps.

So it appears they do not look at your application again until the end of the 28 days after you have submitted further information or so the case seems. My 4 weeks will be on Tuesday but its very annoying as I was told I do not have a case officer which I thought I did, no direct email and the letter said team 3 but they told me to email team 1!!So this is why I emailed today, got a response today but no answer. I will let you know if they do come back to me before or after the 28 days just so you know for your timeframe...

Email the documents AND upload them to you immi account just to be doubly sure

  11. Sent IMMI a bit of a shitty email today as i am fed up of waiting (I loged my application on 30th June) and got a very generic response off one of their case officers saying they are processing them in date order blah blah blah. So basically they ignored my question in the email i sent them. I replied to their generic email from said case officer saying that i have a case office, or so i thought i had, so why have they not re-looked at my application again. Now i am waiting to hear back again.

  12. No update this morning for me but I did get this email last Thursday..

We are seeking to process your application as soon as possible. You will appreciate, however, that all non-citizens applying for visas to enter Australia are considered on an individual basis and against legal requirements set out in Australia's migration legislation. This often includes requirements that all applicants undertake and meet (where relevant) health and character checks.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide you with a definitive timeframe for finalisation of your application. You can be assured, however, that the Department of Immigration and Citizenship staff will do all they can to ensure that your application is finalised as quickly as possible.
