Hello everyone, after a little advice, my family and I(wife and two teenage kids) will be moving to Australia very soon but i am getting a little hung up on how much money to take out there. My wife and i will be looking for work immediately but would like to have at least two months worth of money to take care of rent,food,utility bills etc......can anybody give me some very rough figures as to how much would get us by? Or can anybody who travelled with a family tell me how much they went out with and if they coped okay?

Got my case officer and have been asked to submit police checks and medicals. Pleased things are moving on now, i take it that the CO requesting these is a step in the right direction.

Looking at the spreadsheet noone since 14th April has got a grant. So far, it appears no contact has been made today from the CO's however the working day isnt over just yet!

My son is 18 and all we had to submit was his college enrolment papers, nothing else. We are using a visa agent and were not asked for any more evidence than that. Hope this helps.

No don't have the visa yet, application goes in March, just waiting on one more reference. There seems to be a lot of HV work out there so am feeling pretty positive.

Allow me to introduce myself, I am a high voltage electrical engineer in the UK and am planning to relocate to Australia soon.

In my current role my job title is "senior authorised person" and I am responsible for rendering HV/LV and mechanical equipment safe to be worked on and setting personnel to work under a permit to work system.

From looking on various job sites my job title doesn't seem to exist in Australia, can anybody tell me what my UK role would be classed as in Australia?
