  1. Hi,

My wife worked as cabin crew for 2 years and visited long and short haul destinations several times a week.

We have lodged 189 Oct 1st and would like to fill form 80 out now incase they ask for it. Does anyone know if there is any special information you need to provide if you don't know the dates of each country visited? Her passport has not been stamped on most trips so not able to get individual dates.

    Thanks

  2. Hi,

I have lodged my 189 1 week ago with wife and 2 children under 2yrs. On my daughters details I have somehow managed to mis spell her middle name Voilet instead of Violet. Not quite sure how I have managed to do this as I checked the whole thing so many times.

I have called the immi European service center who gave me the only email they have which is to send in document attachments. I emailed to explain and sent proof of correct spelling nut have not heard back yet.

Has anyone had any similiar experience? I am panicking now that this may delay our visa or worse as we are front loading PCC and medicals that it may just be granted incorrect without speaking with a CO.

    Any help or experience appreciated.

    thanks

    Sam

  3. What is your 19 year old planning in studying.

Personally I think your proposal of studying in Australia on student visa for 8 years plus is madness. Migration rules change all the time, majority of most Newley qualified graduated will not be eligible for PR until they have a number of years work experience.

The likely only parent visa is the contribuitory one if still available in 6+ years and needs to be applied for offshore, current costs over $100,000 for a couple, extra secondary applicant charges will apply.

At the moment this is the only option we have and to give our children a beter life in Aus. Even if we had to come back for a couple of years while they stay in Aus in education or work.

  4. PR is required to meet the citizenship requirements.

have been living in Australia on a valid Australian visa for four years immediately before applying which must include the last 12 months as a permanent resident, and

not have been absent from Australia for more than one year in total, in the 4 year period, including no more than 90 days in the year before applying.

We are really considering our options and being 53 they are very limited. I will be studying radiography and my 19 yr old will also be studying at uni so hoping at the end of his course he can apply for PR, then will have 2 PR children to apply for 1 of the family visas. A very big risk but we have been trying to sell our house and make the move for 6 years now so we are taking the leap

  5. We are still looking into everything at the moment. I have a older son who has been granted PR already so once my other children are old enough to get PR we will be hopeing to get a parent/family visa.

Does anyone know the situation about children attending school for a certian period then applying for citizenship? If this is even possible or will they need to go through the PR visa process?

    Thanks

  6. In the process of filling out my 189 visa.

I had my last name changed around 17 years ago when my mother married and I was legally adopted by her husband and took his last name.

It states in the document checklist to upload 'evidence of name change'.

Has anyone had experience with this or knows what evidence I would need to provide?

    Any help appreciated

    thanks

    Sam
