I am a B1 licensed Aircraft Engineer in the U.k looking for work as an AME in Australia, preferable gold coast but will consider elsewhere. Can anyone recommend any Maintanance companies or airlines (international or domestic) that are hiring at the moment or alternatively any job agencies worth registering with.

always work for AME's over here but if it for defence you need to be able to get security clearance which usually means citizenship (I think) Go to www.seek.com.au and type in aircraft in the search for all Australia and you will see a lot of current opportunities including EOI's for work.
Another option is FIFO work in PNG where they are always asking for AME's
