  1. Hello Fellow Expats!

I currently hold an Australian Permanent Resident Visa (189). In order to be eligible for applying for Australian citizenship one must stay within the country for 4 X 365 days out of the 5 years visa tenure. If in some case the I am not able to stay for the aforementioned period of 4 X 365 days within the country and get a Resident Return Visa done, then do I again need to freshly stay for 4 X 365 days in the country or the previous days spent during the (former) PR visa will also be counted?

    Thanks and regards!

  2. Congrats Zak......... was it a direct grant or you did get a CO. Also did you front loaded the documents or you did that after CO allocation?

I uploaded everything beforehand. Still the CO contacted me once though asking for the PCC as perhaps the uploaded document got corrupted(assuming).

  3. Please find my replies below.

    Hi Everyone,

This thread has been very useful, it is really great to find all the detailed info here. Thanks for sharing. Had some questions, I hope this is the right place to ask.

Q1 : After the allocation of CO, what does usually happen ?

The CO crosschecks all the submitted claims.

Q2 : Does the CO, verifies all the claims made in visa applications ?

    Ideally s/he should.

Q3 : Does the CO, verifies working experience with the current employer or all the employers listed ?

Don't think so as prior to the visa application lodged your work-ex is already verified by one of the governing bodies(depending upon the occupation).

Q4 : Should I front load Medical and PCC, or should I wait for the CO to ask ?

    Better. It will save time.

I hope some of you can help me in this regard.

Thanks all for the great posts.

  5. May i know which country's PCC is that?

I am asking because i had almost the same experience with PCC. I had uploaded PCC upfront and CO still requested it.

My agent asked for clarification as the same was provided already, CO replied that the PCC already provided was issued by city police authorities and is not the national level PCC. But in actual it was the only PCC i could provide according to the law in Pakistan, which i provided.

I explained this to my agent and he explained to CO and after some time he agreed upon that and finalized my visa.

    Hope it helps!

    Hi,

I am applying from India. Even here the PCC is only available from a particular city. Your answer helped me to clear the confusion. Thanks. :)

I have contacted my consultant. Let's see how it goes from here.

Would like to know a few things:

    • After how many days/months did they grant you the visa from the date they asked for an Overseas Police Clearance - National?

    • Did they ask you to fill up that obnoxious Form 80 at any point of time?

    Thanks!

  6. Hi,

visa type: subclass 189 (Skilled - Independent (SI 189))

Today after quite a wait, a CO has contacted me asking for Overseas Police Clearance - National. The strange thing is that the same scanned document has been attached on Elodgment profile page about 3 weeks back! On my profile page the status of this particular document has changed from Required to Requested.

I plan to mail them the same scanned copy of the Overseas Police Clearance - National (PCC) but before that would like to know if anyone has gone through a similar incident.

    Thanks and regards

    Ambar

A couple of my friends (who are already there) also have similar opinions. Now if they ask for the obnoxious form 80 then it'd take more time.

    Good luck!

  8. Hello everyone!

I have uploaded all the documents mentioned in check-list. Though I haven't been contacted by any CO yet, but still it seems like they have finalized the 'Health Evidence' clause. Eagerly waiting like most of you guys and checking this forum and the ELodgement page every single day, at least once! :)
