Overall English test scores are not relevant.
Since you are represented, I cannot advise further.
Hi Wrussell,
Thanks for your comment. Please note the score 90 83 87 90 in PTE and we are not represented by anyone at this moment. Yes we have done consultation for our case once.

If the masters was also from a SA uni then at face value it looks like she'd qualify for a work experience waiver. When I applied for sponsorship from Vic, points weren't so much an issue (I also had a high score), although they did ask for indicative points. Once she's secured sponsorship, she'd automatically get an invite to apply for the visa, so again, extra points aren't necessary. If I was applying on my own, I'd play it safe on the work experience. Mention it but not claim points for it. As it was during PhD, might be adjudged to be part time and so less than 20 hours per week (especially if the PhD is completed in 3-4 years, i.e. full time student).
Hi , Thanks for your detailed response. The Masters is not from the same University. The only reason we are keen to proceed now is that since we have positive assessment from Vetassess with 90 83 87 90in PTE and might as well utilise this time for getting PR . However I feel only option now is to wait for her to complete her Phd and then apply for PR.

Hi Guys,
Can anyone advise based on below facts of my case.
My Partner has positive skill assessment from Vetassess under 272499 Social Professionals
PTE SCORE 90 overall
Age 36years
Work experience : accepted by Vetasses on scholarship for PHD as regular working experience
Education: completed Masters Degree (though she is pusuing Phd from University of Adelaide and will complete in next 3 months)
Regional Area 3 years stay
Skill in high demand in SA
Total Skill select points 75 without adding points for education in Australia or partner skills
Now we are confused as we are not getting firm response from Migration agent on our case. He has advised he is getting unconfirmed response from Migration SA whether they will accept her work experience as verified by Vetassess for granting state nomination.
I will appreciate if someone can advise us the way forward.

Hi Guys,
Please note the following details about my case in which I intend to make my Spouse as primary applicant.
Age 25 Pts
English Language 10Pts
Skilled Employment 5Pts (In Aus) Assessed as Positive by Vetassess
ANZSCO 272499
Bachelors Degree 15Pts
Partner Skills 5Pts
Total Points as of date 65Pts +5 pts if we get state sponsorship
ANZSCO 272499 IS UNDER SUPPLEMENTARY SKILLS CATEGORY IN sa
Condition under supplementary skills "I have worked in a skilled occupation in South Australia for the last 12 months."
Current status my wife - pursuing her Phd from University of Adelaide and is likely to finish by next year 2017.
We thought that since we have the required points. We were surprised when during interaction with Migration SA responded(on email) that they will not grant State sponsorship inspite of the fact that VETASSESS has given us positive outcome & has accepted scholarship given to my wife for RESEARCH as paid employment. Migration SA advised us to pursue the case after the completion of her Phd in 2017.
Now we are confused. We were planning to apply and obtain PR by the time my wife completes her Phd.
Can any of our learned members advise me if
# what has been advised to us by Migration SA is that the rule? Can we get it reviewed?
# Can we apply for PR as soon as the thesis is submitted or only after the grant of Phd? In the case of completion we will have additional points on top of 65 Pts (5Pts for Phd+ 5Pts Study in regional area+5 Pts completing professional year)

Hi Steve! Yes I did and as mentioned above my SCORE falls under proficient category hence 10 points .
Did you also under take a english test to score you 10 points? -
Thanks Maggie,
Appreciate your response.
will proceed accordingly.
To apply for a 189 visa, your occupation needs to be on the SOL, which it isn't. If it's on the CSOL and sponsored by SA, then a 190 visa would be your best option. -
Hi Thanks for your response. Does that mean that we should go with State nomination only? Right!!
Not unless you job is on the SOL. -

Thanks Ken.
Regional Australia for immigration purposes is the whole of Australia with the exception of Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne. Hence, yes Adelaide is in Regional Australia. Whether there are any extra points for that I can't tell you. -
Hi Guys,
My wife is pursuing her PhD from Univ of Adelaide for past 1 and a half year. Can anyone please advise if my wife is eligible for extra points for studying in Regional Australia.(Does Adelaide come under Regional Australia category)
Thanks
-
Yes I have checked CSOL list. This is at medium availability in SA and does not have any conditions.
HVe you checked to see if any States are sponsoring that occupation - being on the csol it would require state sponsorship. Also, check if any special conditions are put on by the states. -
Hi,
I have checked my occupation is on CSOL ANZSCO Code 132111
My points break up is as follows:
15 points for the age
15 points for the overseas work experience
15 points for Graduate degree
15 points or 20 points on English IELTS result is awaited.
Total 60 points I should have minimum.
I your occupation on the SOL or CSOL?have you calculated your points?

Thanks for the detailed response @supercow.

Hi,
Honestly one MARA Agent has confused us and has advised it will be better that I can make my spouse as primary applicant due to age, IELTS and one year completion of academics.
Listen though I have my skills assessed but that is being done for gaining extra 5 points as spouse if I become secondary applicant. That is the reason I have mentioned about my skills assessment.
Don't understand your post. You talk about your wife as main applicant but then mention you have the skills assessment, so aren't you going t be the main applicant? -
Hi Guys,
Please advise the way forward for getting PR visa if my wife is a primary applicant based on below details:
1. My Wife is a student of University of Adelaide and pursuing PHD in INTERNATIONAL POLITICS on scholarship.
2. Her Age is 34
3. She has IELTS academic score of 8 Bands
4. She has completed 1 year in her academics.
5. My skills have been assessed positively by VETASSESS
Looking forward to some excellent advice.
Thanks

Hi Arnold
You are supposed to provide the following documents to Vetassess:
1. Salary Slips
2. Attested Bank statement showing transfer of salary in your account
3. Offer letter from employer
4. Appointment & Confirmation letter
5. Salary Increment/ Appreciation letter issued by your company.
6. Income Tax Return for the years your experience is to be assessed.
7. On company original letter head :Job description with your title/ working hours
All the above documents needs to be attested by Notary of Justice of peace.
Once done you can upload all the documents on vetassess website after paying the fees.
Hope this suffices
regards
Ash

I don't see either of those occupations on the SOL, are you sure you did? What is the occupation code?
Please note

132111
Corporate Services Manager

You haven't said if either of you are employed in an occupation on the SOL or CSOL?
Thanks. I do have my occupation listed in SOL & CSOL (Corporate services manager) & my wife as well (Research and development manager).
