  1. Hi Donna,

we are hopefully emigrating this June, I can't remember exactly when we started the whole process, as we had a bit of initial to&fro-ing over pensions and other stuff, but I remember hubby accepting the post before the summer last year and the date given to us for starting was a year from then (ie. this June). Medicals/visas etc were all done in the meantime, and we have a final interview next week with the visiting RAN board. TBH I'm not sure what the purpose of this interview is (one of the questions is 'why should we recommend you for the post?' ) as I was under the impression that having signed and returned the offered position, and having visas, it was a done deal....apparently not! If anyone else could shed further light on this I would be interested to hear!

Anyway, good luck with your interview, let us know how it goes!

    hi Karen

thanks k's for your reply. That's very strange about your interview. I think the letter was just a standard form.

thats good to know that roughly a year from offer ( just trying to work out school times etc)

really nervous for fri night at plymouth as don't really know what to expect as they said we will either get recommended or not recommended at the end of interview.

Feels like it is a lengthy process already but I'm sure IT will be worth it.

Have you you put in a preference area?

  2. Sorry I don't. I actually emigrate in 7 weeks (fingers crossed) off my own back. My Australian mrs isn't 100% convinced she wants to live in Perth so I haven't actually applied yet. I'm hoping i can talk her around soon. If I don't find a job she won't have much choice :)

Good luck then. We have been debating this for years but now we have a little one I feel the move is right.

ive never been to Australia so advice on areas is essential lol

  3. Hello to anyone who replies or reads this. My husband has his interview on Friday (v nervous).

Can an anyone advise on a recent timescale to emmigrate if accepted?

if we get a preference on location I am leaning more to perth, can anyone advise on which is better. We are a family of 3 (daughter is 4 & we currently live in northumberland)

    hubby by is a POET(me).

    i appreciate all opinions

    thank you in advance

    ?
