  1. Not sure what took so long for you. We applied 1 July 2014 and had our ceremony 23 October 2014. I think it depends on your local council.

Yeah, poor me in regional outback australia, not really quick and flash out here, takes ages to get a ceremony. Need At least 5 people to have a ceremony,it's so hard to line up 5 people out in the bush.lol

  2. I did my acro police check when I applied for my pr but no longer have a copy as it went in with my pr application. Are they likely to need to see this again when I do my citizenship test ??? Just wondering if it's worth running another check now before I complete my application thanks Lou

Hey,no you don't have to get a police check for the test.all you got to do is fill crim track form and attach to the application.thats why you pay 240 for the department, all inclusive

  3. Hoping someone can help clear a question I have.

For the citizenship application it states that you may require a police clearance with your application. I want to know do I need to provide one of these from the UK?

I first arrived in Aus aged 29 only lived in UK. become permanent resident at 30 provided Clearance from Aus and UK police at that time as part of application. I have not been out of the country more then 30 days since residency was granted. Now 32 applying for citizenship.

Am I required to provide a police clearance from the UK as part of the citizenship application?

Hey,you don't have to provide police clearance for the uk,unless you out of aus for 90 days, there is a form called " crimtrac",download, fill n attach to your online application, you better be hurry mate,it takes ages to process till you get the ceremony.once you complete 4 years in aus and 1 year in pr,apply straightaway. It takes at least 8-10 months to get your ceremony...all the best

  4. I really would not recommend you make up an address just to get an earlier citizenship ceremony (per your other thread). They send written invitations for one thing, then at our ceremony we were put onto the electoral register at our address.

I have been living in 5 different addresses last 2 years,no peremant place and im planning to leave the state after citizenship ceremony....I'm seriously moving to new address and look for jobs around and see a different side of the world...

  5. There is a form to do this on line. I didn't provide any evidence

Thanks, did you post it? Or is there any option to upload it online?

where did you get you ceremony? In your new council or the old council?

    thanks

  6. Hi,when you contact DIAC for changing residential address,do they ask you to prove again your new residence? Like bills, contracts, bank notice, etc

or they just ask you the new address.

Drop a line if anyone has any experience.

    cheers

  7. What's the bid deal ? Much nicer to do it on Australia Day anyway IMO.

Because I'm planning to travel in December and one of my mates getting married same month,I want a ceremony before December ,,,,,australia day is ok,but im not a big public person.see what happens,I'm trying...

  8. i don't know if you have to change your address. i believe i read somewhere that Immi can organize for you to have your ceremony done at a neighboring council... i am sure someone will be along to confirm or deny.

It sucks mate waiting for a ceremony in a small regional council, they only have 2 in a year. I don't know that they put you on a neighbouring council. I'm asking again, has anyone done that before? Please tell your experience

    cheers

  9. Hi,

I'm waiting for a citizenship ceremony in a regional council, unfortunately the next one will be in Australia Day next year.but the council next to me is a city council and they have a ceremony every month. I'm going to change my address to the city council,so I might get a ceremony before Australia Day.

    has anyone done that before?

    cheers

  10. You still need to report the employer though. Other people will end up like you if you don't. Sounds like they are using people on visas so they can threaten to cancel them.

not sure if you will ever get your money though.

Hi mate,I will never let them go,next is fair work,i will keep updating whats happening

  11. I agree with Blossom - start with Fairwork to lodge a complaint and begin the paperwork that you can then use as back-up when you contact DIBP.

    I got my application approved,,,,,yahhhhhhhh

  12. Agreed, if you have not been paid then they are breaking the law and your contract. You don't need to stay. How are they giving you payslips but not paying you? Repost them to Fairwork Australia today!

Hi mate,do I have to notify DIAC before I leave?

  13. Take all your payslips, contract proof not been paid ie bank statements head straight to FairWork. As for visa obligations - immigration are not going to take any action against you.

Thanks mate, yeah,I got everything ready by now, lucky they sent me all my outstanding pay details.

  14. Agreed, if you have not been paid then they are breaking the law and your contract. You don't need to stay. How are they giving you payslips but not paying you? Repost them to Fairwork Australia today!

Last month I got $ 500 nd calculated rate was 2.80 per hour, now I know where I am nd what I can do,thank you so much,

  15. Report your employer straight away! And stop working for free! As has been pointed out, immigration and the tax office are linked so they will see you haven't been paid at the contracted amount. You need to fix this! Has anyone else not been paid? You need to show evidence that you have been doing everything you can to sort this out.

Immigration don't expect you to stay in a job who is breaking the law.

I'm so angry on your behalf. Not only have they not paid you, but they could have messed up your citizenship application. Grrrrrr!

Thanks mate,I talked to another migration expert today and she said wait until department's decision,it's been 2 months now since I have done the test,I will receive the decision within next 2 weeks according to her. Yeah, few other local workers haven't been paid and they are long gone.

  16. Hi,thanks mate, yeah, I can prove that I have been working for them last 18 months, I got all payslips, time sheet and tax papers, I'm waiting for the decision of the department,it shouldn't be too far, then,I leave the job.

  17. Hi,I have been working for the company since August 2011 and 18 months on RSMS.my annual salary is $48,000 according to the contract, but I have been paid only $13,000 for the last financial year, they owe me over $50,000 now, they have clear financial issues.I'm still at work doing the right thing to complete 2 year visa obligations,

I applied for citizenship as well and it's been 2 months since I have done the test. I'm waiting for my the approval letter from the department. I talked to a migration agent and he reckoned department check with the ATO and holding the confirmation, because of only 13,000 showing in their records, I'm bit worried about that,I just wanna get the citizenship and leave the employer ASAP.i got all my payslips, time sheets and tax papers etc....

    1. What should I do if they decline the citizenship application?

    2. When am I able to leave this job?

    3. Will that be a problem for the citizenshipIf I leave the job now?

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    THANKS
