  1. If it is still on the list but 'Closed' then maybe that just means it is full for this year? I've no idea when the new year commences for allocation of numbers but it may just be a case of waiting.

Your migration agent should be able to answer that if no-one else on here knows.

Thank you @Lady Rainicorn, Yeah true that.

I've contacted my agent, they asked me to wait for the next list.*fingers crossed*

  2. There is quite an overlap in ICT professions therefore it may be possible to get a positive ACS skills assessment for another occupation - only you can really answer that as you know your skills and experience. Have you looked at the ACS descriptions for other occupations? Are any a close match?

The risk of course is that that occupation then is removed from state lists - the lists are reviewed a couple of times a year but not always updated and although new occupations are added IMHO the chance that a recently removed occupation is re-added is rather small so i would be looking at alternatives.

Given it is on the CSOL is there not a way you could apply independently?

@TeeTMI will make it more likely that she sees your post :)

Thanks for your reply @Lady Rainicorn , Actually it's mentioned as "Closed" at the ACT occupations list.

wow..I didnt know these. I'm so unlucky,The occupation "Web Developer" which is in the same category as mine was closed too.

Anyway I've noticed "Multimedia Specialist" is listed at the SA nominations list but its only for the Australian Graduates,

    I've attached a screenshot here.

Do you have any idea, that they would bring it up to a state nomination list in near future?

    Thanks in advance,

    Have a great day!

  3. Perhaps you should have your case fully reviewed by.a registered migration agent to review your current position qualifications etc for closely related occupations. It is not possible to predict if states will re-add closed occupations back to the state occupation list.

    Thanks for your reply

[h=2]I'm already registered with a migration agent in my country, but not getting the relevant supporting details :(

Do u know how often do States update their Occupation lists?

    Thank you.[/h]

  4. Dearest TeeTMI,

I saw your forum posts and you seem very knowledgeable in this migration field.

Could you please help me with answering my this question? I'd be very grateful.

(And I'm sorry If my question sound silly.)

Recently I've faced with an unfortunate situation with my occupation has been closed from the new state nomination list of Australian Capital Territory (ACT) .That was the only occupation list which mine was made available when l was trying to apply for 190 visas.

My occupation is "Multimedia Specialist - ANZSCO CODE - 261211". It's in the CSOL. But currently none of the states mentioned it in their lists.

(except SA list only for the Australian graduates which I can not apply :( )

I've spent days checking online old state nomination lists and found out my above occupation was available since 2012 at the ACT nomination list and then 2013 it has become "Limited" and then they "closed" it with the recently published list ..

Do I have any other option as applying for a closely related occupation?

Do you have any idea if they reopen my occupation for any state?

Normally when the state Closes an ICT profession in their list, will they reopen it in the near future?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  5. I am currently a Marketing Specialist (as classed by VETASSESS) and it WAS on the state sponsored list for Canberra. I started the process and employed an agent (OE Visas - Richard Greagan) and applied for my VETASSESS which includes providing 8 years of payslips of P40's, all certificates from qualifications, letters from employers to vouch for my experience etc. From start to finish the whole VETASSESS took 8 months but I did get a positive assesment but by then the state sponsored list for Marketing Specialist had closed. I am now waiting to see if it comes back on the list 1st July.

It isnt on any other list and if it does go back on the places will be very limited. I would highly recommend an agent if it does go back on and you are going to pursue. Our route isnt straightforward and an agent who knows the ins and outs of the system has been a massive benefit to me.

    Good luck

    Hi, Joanne Rawlinson

Even though I went through a migration agent I've faced to similar situation like yours :(

I've been in the process of applying for " "Multimedia Specialist - ANZSCO 261211" (190 visa category)

It was available at ACT that time .But now it's closed in the ACT occupation list :/

But its still on the main CSOL list.

I guess I have to wait till they open my occupation again to get the state sponsorship .tough situation.

I wish you all the best.

  6. Oh I just found that my occupation is still isted in the[h=2]Occupation List - CSOL :)

but not on state/territories lists :/ (Earlier it was in the ACT occupations list)

Do I still have a chance to migrate to Australia?

    Thanks in advance guys.xo[/h]

  7. If anyone could answer my this question,I'd be very grateful..

I was in the middle of the process of applying for Australia PR through "Multimedia Specialist - ANZSCO 261211" (190 visa category) via a good migration company in my country.

I've received a positive outcome from my ACS evaluation and so been waiting to do the EOI & Nomination Stages.

Ive done IELTS 2nd of August and so still waiting to receive my results so that I can continue the process.

But unfortunately,.. my migration company emailed me today ,saying that,

a few state governments have published their Occupation Lists for the new financial year (July 2014) and unfortunately none of the states/territories list Multimedia Specialist - occupation at the moment.. frown.gif.pagespeed.ce.03FZ2rMcsA.gif

I'm extremely sad. I was gonna apply for this as soon as I receive my IELTS results and never expected a situation like this frown.gif.pagespeed.ce.03FZ2rMcsA.gif Is there any chance of applying for my occupation again?

Does anyone know my occupation "Multimedia Specialist - ANZSCO 261211" will be listed on near future?

Thanks so much guys, Looking forward to hearing from you..
