  1. Selection criteria applies in every state and each is different.

For my present position I sent in five pages of selection criteria, plus a four page CV and a one page covering letter. Pretty standard for education.

You also need to modify and change as time goes on, you can't just keep sending the same application in of course.

In WA government positions demand that the selection criteria is addressed against the National Professional Standards for Teachers. So my advice there is to go on the website and familiarise yourself with the standards.

Thank you. Sounds like some good advice!

  2. :wacko:Hi

Just wondering if anyone else finds addressing selection criteria in job applications daunting? Just had a look at one job description & there was a full page of selection criteria that they wanted responses to! Does anyone have any advice and successful experience with this? So far in my career I have not been required to do this in a job application.

  3. Hi Milliem

We are planning on moving to Queensland (sunshine coast) early next year. I teach science/ chem/ bio but happy to teach maths too. Do you have any advice about finding work in Queensland? I am starting to stress out a little as there doesnt seem much. I would be happy doing supply to start but would take what ever is going. I apparently can only do the teacher application with the department once we are there. Was really hoping to have work lined up ahead of time.
