I was always on bridging visa A and never got BVE,i applied for judical review for my student visa but i withdrew my case and went to my country to wait for my pr to be granted which i applied in march 2015

This happened to me too! Ministerial intervention is absolutely not the right thing to do! I lodged a formal complaint and within 48 hours they rectified it all and apologised! They told me that there was a 'glitch' in the system! Lodge a complaint and attach all your visa confirmations, that's what i did!

  2. Well most people don't even get told that much. I was told an hour before getting my visa, but that was a different type.

Like you say, the not knowing is the worst bit. Limbo is not fun.

Yea you are damn right, thanks for responding to me though! I am hopeful that 'processing stage' is a good thing now :)

  3. Living together is regarded as a common element in most on-going relationships. It is recognised that, for various reasons, couples may sometimes have to live apart. Provided the separation is temporary and the couple had, at some point since commencement of the relationship lived together, their relationship might still satisfy the requirements of a de facto relationship.

For this reason, the one year relationship criterion does not require the couple to have physically lived together for the entire 12 months, but rather to have been in a de facto relationship for that period.

Partners who are currently not living together may be required to provide additional evidence that they are not living separately and apart on a permanent basis in order to satisfy the requirements of a de facto relationship.

any tips you have for evidence will be wildly appreciated!

  4. You dont have to be living together for 12 months to be in a De facto relationship, we looked and looked and looked until the cows came home before applying. We have submitted reasons as to why we werent, i guess its just a case of hoping its good enough!

its so hard to research what happens if it is declined though, I think i may go see a migration expert if it does!

  5. They were really vague, I asked for clarification as well and basically got a link to the evidence booklet! :(

I have provided them with joint bank accounts, rental agreements, joint bills, stat decs photos, everything really lol!

yea thats whats scaring me, do you know what options are avialable shoudl they decline it?

    Panick is setting in!

  6. Blossom79 - I am worried that becasue we werent living together for a year we may get declined - we were attempting to purchase a house at the time so have submitted lots of evidence and expalined this as our reasoning but who know it may not be enough :S

Nemesis - I was asked to provide more evidence to support our relationship the year prior to applying and the evidence from the date of applying until the present day. We have heaps from the application to present day but not much that we hadnt already submitted for the year prior to application. Thanks for the good look wishes! Its so nerve wracking isnt it!!!

Redderdevil - Great that makes me feel a lot better! Lets hope then that I am in that category or progressing to the next stage, do you know what the next stage is?

  7. I applied for a 820/801 in May 2014 and immigration contacted me on Monday requesting more supporting evidence!

I have pulled together as much as I can, but am now worried it may be declined.... :(

Any ideas what options are available if it is declined?

    Thanks

    Kat

  8. right, i have put together some more evidence and am just waiting on a friend's stat dec then will send it all off!

Scared it will get declined now, anyone know what options are available if you do get declined?

  9. I heard you did get told when your co was assigned! I'm just so impatient now!

Immigration contacted me - asked for more information and evidence - eeeeek!

now im worried it will get declined :S

I dont even know what my options would be if it did :(

  10. The fact that you received an email requesting more evidence etc indicates that you do in fact have a CO. I must say though that I've never heard of anyone being requested to register their relationship. It's an option for people in some states if they want an exemption from the One-year Relationship requirement but the applicant usually does it without a request from DIBP. Sounds like the CO might think you're a bit short of evidence to show that you've been in a de facto relationship for a full 12 months.

I wonder whether it could be used as a defence for us WA applicants, it seems unfair that other states only have to register and then are exempt from the 1 year rule!

  11. I'm Australian. My partner is from the UK. He is low risk, yes. But thats it.

We got an automatically generated email on 13th November 2014 saying we will get a CO soon.

3 weeks ago we got an email requesting us to 'register our relationship' with BDM which cost $207 and takes 5 weeks to process, more financial evidence from 2013 and 2014. (FYI we had a joint bank account since 2013 which was put in the initial visa app)

    Apart from that. Absolutely nothing.

It will be 12 months in a few days. No sign of CO or visa.

Good luck to everyone else. You are in for a long wait.

I hate to see what someone from a 'high risk country' has to endure.

Thanks for providing this info! I think that my application won't e plain sailing so I am Deffo in for a longer wait! It seems 9 months maybe when you hear something, even if it is just a generated email!

I hope you hear soon! We can't register here in WA so they can't ask us for that!

  12. Hate to burst everyone's bubble, but we applied on February 5, 2014 and still have no visa... Prepare for a long wait...

Oh noooooooo! have u even heard anything from immi? Got a case officer?
