  1. You can try to check whirlpool about internet providers. There are tons of recommendation and review for each provider. If your area is serviceable by NBN go for it. Phone, if you're on the fibre area then VOIP is the only solution. RSP offer unlimited calls anywhere in Australia less than $80

  2. Good point Paul1Perth.. FTTP should be for businesses only. For me, I'm good with ADSL2+ as long it serves what I need. Most of the time people now tend to use their mobile for the internet connection and most of the time everyone is at work or in school.

  3. After the hearing with NBNCo and Senate Select Committee. NBNCo pointed out 3 major priorites.

    Three major priorities:

    1. Completing the rollout as soon as possible;

    2. Achieving a minimum level of service;

    3. Doing this at a minimum cost.

    I hope we get all of those 3 instead of being lucky to get one out of three, if that happens I think there's a problem about the approach of Abbot to future technology.

  4. Hi guys, I found this interesting maybe you want to watch how Senate Select Committee bashes NBNco.

    Guys watch Bill Morrow, CEO of NBNCo and Greg Adock discuss NBNCo with Senate Select Committee LIVE. I find it interesting and how they get the figures that was posted on their site..http://webcast.aph.gov.au/livebroadcasting/asx1/hms109v_100K.asx Pls delete thread if link is not allowed thanks..

  5. Let's make the forum more active...

    Who is your current provider NOW and how much you spend for land line and internet?

    What do you enjoy most of the service that you have?

    If there's one thing that you like to change or your unhappy with? what would it be?

    What are you looking for your internet and home phone service?

  6. It still on the go Baz however purple zone on their map is on the move to disconnect copper cable services. FTTN has stalled and even the FTTB will resume on 2015. They're now focusing building satellite station in SA, NSW, Tas, WA and QLD...

  7. What's happening with NBNCo. is ti another broken promise from $29 billion to $38 billion. Does the coalition know anything about the contract before the election? Does the government underestimating people in rural and regional areas?

    What's your update regarding NBN service in your area? Let's talk about it.

  8. Do anyone knows how long it takes to complete the trench? Will that be on our expense or it free from Telstra? Any idea how much it will cost us? No copper cable found.. I think we need to go with 3g/4g wireless. Will wait for the NBN Satellite, we heard it will be out soon within this year. Thanks guys for the replies.

  9. iprimus no worries adsl home bundle $95.45.....................200gig (no off/peak) line rental, free local and national calls and calls to mobiles

    Thanks for this John. I'll check them if they have under the table plan because we've been offered $99 free calls to local national and mobile calls with 250GB allowance anytime.

    TPG

    Pro's

    Cheap (59.99 a month with phone)

    Fast (for me anyway)

    Fixed a fault with the connection within 24 hours

    Set up connection quickly

    Con's:

    None so far

    Looks promising but I've heard bad things about them like on the news that tpg fined $400,000 due to denying access to emergency numbers

    I think i need to research more about it. Do you guys know any site/forum to check this guys. Thanks.

  10. We are with iinet, no download limit, doesn't get throttled, we maintain our land line with them too and we pay about $100 a month

    Paul, you can still drop your bill less than a $100. You go with VOIP service so there would be no more copper line rental. Since you mentioned that your speed is good enough, then you will not have any trouble connecting to VOIP service. Most providers have VOIP service since it will be cheaper for the call rates and sometimes calling local and national calls are free.

    I think the trial for fibre to the node had stalled. Most RSPs accept application for NBN Fibre service which is on a eligible location and once the FTTN, FTTH and FTTB are available they will just switch them over for free.
