Can anyone explain to me when you're a resident and when you're a non resident for tax purpose?

I did some research but I've read so many different things...

Also, how does it influance my tax return?

Wondering if there are any rules in regards to driving a car/renting a car in Australia.

Do you have to be over 18year, or older?

Do you need to have your drivers licence for at least 2 years (for example)?

Any rules about that?

As my sister just has her drivers licence and wondering if she is allowed to drive/rent a car when she comes over next month.

Me and my boyfriend are working in NSW at the moment, planning to buy a car in sydney to go and travel around Australia.

So we've to register our car in NSW, are we then allowed to drive anywhere in Australia, or do we've to pay in other parts?

Also, if we want to sell our car in the end, do we have to sell it in NSW again, or is it possible to sell it somewhere else?

Also any advice for best company for car insurance for a plan like this with the car?

How do they check how long you work?

As I'm working somewhere now and I will take a two week break to go and travel and then come back.

Will they also count this 2 weeks into the 6 months, or do they see it as two different periods....?

I'm a veterinary nurse, I assume that I can work on a working-holiday visa in this sector?

But my boyfriend is a social care worker, he works with people who are mentally ill, or kids with problems.

Is he allowed to work in his sector on a work-holiday visa?

It's hard to find information about this....

We also understand that we can't work for one employee for longer than 6 monts.

But we read on http://www.immi.gov.au/ that it would be possible to work longer than 6 months if you get permission of the Secretary?

Anyone can give us some more info about this?

I read that when you apply for a WHV you have to give prove that you have enough money.

I'm just wondering how this works?

As when you send your application, you've a full year to enter the country, so in a year, there can happen a lot with your money, no...?

Anyone who can give me some more information about that... would be much appreciated!
