  1. where are you from btw ? ,I am asking as that matters , apparently timeline for Pakistani nationals are 12 to 18 months , and I have seen some cases where people are waiting after 22 months and there is no grant yet. Don't exactly know how it works.Any ways , how did you come to know that you application has gone under security checks , is it some thing they have told you and is it just your assumption ? If you were informed by them , can you kindly tell me how did you contact them? any phone numbers ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I am from Bangladesh. After four months have passed, we sent an e-mail to the address: gsm.adelaide@immi.gov.au and two days later they sent us a template reply, saying that processing of some visa applications can take considerable time because they need to meet certain health, character and national security checks undertaken by external agencies. So from this, we understood that ours has been sent for security checks. Also, judging from the timelines of other Bangladeshi applicants who share their experiences in this and other forums, this is the most probable explanation for such long processing delay. I assume it will take another year for me until I can hope to receive a grant.

    Thanks.

  2. Any update in april gang? There seem to be no progress at all..

We were allocated a case officer on the 11th august after 4 months of our application..and no update after that. We have submitted everything in advance and so i dont know what is taking so long for our application.

It is 5 months now and still waiting...:(

    Hi Farah,

My situation is same as yours. After queries from team 13 twice, at last we got a case officer in August ( they didn't contact. We called DIBP and the operator told so). Still no grant after 4 and a half months. I am guessing it has been forwarded to external security check, otherwise there is no reason for delay.

Please keep updated if you hear anything more.

    Cheers.

  3. Hi,

I think now we all BD applicants are first given to team 13 and there is significant delay in our case officer allocations. My latest update is this: we responded to team 13's requests in mid June. now in mid July (yesterday), they again made some queries about employment and education history. We will provide them the answers shortly and see what happens. Still no case officer :-( such a painful situation.

Piece of advice to all BD applicants, please collect exact street addresses (it context of BD it will mean house no, road no, area/thana, district, postcode, everything) of all your past residences and educational institutes as soon as you lodge your application. Do not leave out any gap or discrepancy in information. I know we do not remember all details and in BD they are not well documented as well. But it is very important to get it right. Otherwise they will keep bugging you and will take months to progress.

Hope we all get our grants as soon as possible.

    Cheers.

  4. When we lodged our application (14th April), their website said that case officer for 189 visas are allocated within 10 weeks of lodgement. But from May they are only stating dates and its progressing 3 days a month (Now 3rd March). By this way, we can never question them because the dates will take ages to reach to April at this pace. Whereas, in this forum we are seeing May applicants got their grant and June applicants got case officers and are close to their grants. I don't understand their policy. Does it all have to do with being from high risk country?

  5. Hi all,

Yesterday we called to DIBP but they could not tell any further information. Have any of you heard anything after communicating with adelaide gsm team 13? The DIBP person could not even tell if we have a case officer even after 2.5 months. Please keep us updated. Good luck to everyone.

  6. Hi everybody,

I decided to open a thread for those who have received a request from Adelaide GSM Team 13 for additional documents (their mail says that they are not CO and will not assess visa application (CO may or may not have been allocated) but they are collecting important client particulars. We lodged our 189 application on 14th April 2014. Till now no contact from CO just received the communication from team 13 and they requested form 80, form 1221 and CV. Some people say they might be doing security check. This makes me anxious. Can others please come forward if you have had any such request from team 13? Does it really mean security check? How long after such contact can a person expect grant? Please share your experiences.

  7. Hi Farah,

I guess we are on the same boat. As I mentioned gsm team 13 is asking for the information (form 80, 1221 and CV) after 2 months and they said they are not CO, only collects required information. No idea about the CO assigned or not. I do not know contact numbers and even if I did, I hesitate to contact them since I do not know what the outcome will be. We will just send the required forms and wait for their response.

I will keep you guys updated and please also give update if you hear anything more/receive grant. Then we will have idea about how long after contact from team 13 one usually gets the grant.

I pray for all of us to receive their grants as quickly as possible.

    Cheers.

  8. They contacted us yesterday asking for form 80, form 1221 and CV/resume of both applicants. We are claiming partner points as well. They also say that they are not CO, but collecting the information (adelaide GSM 13). Now have to supply all these again. Bit confused because did not hear about form 1221 that often. Hope everything is fine.

  9. Hi All, I'm new to the group and this thread but having submitted our 189 application with all docs (except medical) on April 15th and having no CO yet I came searching for help.... I'm currently here on my husbands 457 but he desperately wants to start a new job he has been offered so the waiting is starting to take it's toll.

Anyone from April still waiting for a CO or visa grant?

We have also lodged on April 14th, 2014 (my husband primary applicant). All documents uploaded including medical, PCC and form 80 (link appeared) within April. Still no communication or CO. We have applied for 189 visa in Electronics Engineer (ANZSCO code 233411) category onshore. It has already been two months and no contact leaves us very anxious.

Can you please tell what your occupation code is? I can see that you are onshore. Many people form April got their 189 grant already, both onshore and offshore. That makes me wonder if it has anything to do with certain occupations.

    Thanks and best of luck.

  10. Hi there,

We have also lodged 189 visa application on 14th April, 2014. All documents including PCC and Form 80 uploaded within 30th April. Medical was also done on 30th April, results uploaded by clinic on 5th May. But still we did not receive any communication from the CO (if any). So we are getting worried :dull: Don't have any idea why we got stuck like this.
