  1. Hi all, great to see so many of the march people getting there grants.. has anyone used an immi account, i used an agent and she did everything. now the problem is she has gone on holiday for the next two weeks and my head is about to explode.. can i set up my own immi account or do i need to get my password from my agent to check my visa status? Thanks in advance

  2. hi all,

Remember i posted that i called office to ask whether there is a case officer allocated last Monday? I called today again and they told me i got one. :)

That's what I like to hear... Did they give you a date as to when the case officer had been allocated?? Do you mind if I ask are you onshore or offshore and what profession you're applying for.

    Cheers

  3. A BVE isn't generally a good visa to be on. You may find in the long run you're better off hoping DIBP considers the fact that you've applied for the 190 and decides not to cancel the 457, thereby allowing you to remain on that visa until the 190 is granted.

    Hi Maggiemay

Thanks for your reply. Why would it be better to stay on the 457?? I have been out of work since xmas and its really starting to drive me crazy. My 457 still has not been cancelled and I thought it might be better to cancel it then get my bridging visa and then apply for working rights?? I see people receiving all these delay letters for the 190 so I'm thinking I could be on it for quiet a while longer and wouldn't I better off on a bridging visa, at least I could work.

    All advise greatly appreciated

  4. No you will not have working rights at the moment on your BVA. In fact i wonder if you are you even on BVA ... did your 457 visa expire? Or did it end because the job finished? You could very well be on BVE, working rights can be applied for on this visa but never travel rights.

    Hi Rupert

Thanks for your reply. My 457 ended due to the company going into receivership. I am currently trying to see if they cancelled my 457 or not. If not i'll have to cancel it and then apply for the working rights on my bridging visa?? I think that's correct.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Hi All

I have applied for 190 and just have a quick question. I was on a 457 and when I noticed things starting to slow down I did everything that was required of my to apply for a NSW 190 before the company went under. Now they have gone and I've been waiting to hear on my 190 but according to other threads I could be waiting for quiet some time. Which I don't mind doing once I can work.

If I get a bridging visa A do I have unrestricted working rights so I can go and work for a new company while my application is processed. or do I have to prove the financial hardship?? Or how does this system work?

    any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  6. I never was very good at the waiting game. From other forums I have been on it seems as though there is a total "go-slow" on the 190. I'm hoping its mainly the people with negative stories that are posting on these forums when in fact there are countless happy smiley people getting there visa grants and then not posting it here. lol

Anyone have any experience with getting working rights while on a bridging visa??

  7. hi,

Lodge mine on 6th March for 190 NSW.

Medical and PCC done locally in Sydney. Waiting for case officer to get a letter to do PCC in overseas. And also waiting from them whether i need to pay for secondary applicant for not taking IELTS.

    cheers!

    Winson

    Hey Winson

Have you heard any news yet?

  8. Hi All

At first I was delighted to find this thread and have since wished I hadn't. Its disheartening to see that one member has applied on the 2nd of March and still no reply. I applied on the 18th of March SS NSW 190. Still no sign of a case officer. We have our Medicals booked for 1st of May in Melbourne. We also got our police clearances the last time we were home in Oct so all of that has been uploaded. How do you know that a case officer has been allocated??
