  1. Congratulations hun :-))), we submitted everything on 31st may (189 visa Melbourne bound hopefully) still no case officer or any news :-( did you use an agent? I was just wondering does you agent get the goldern email or does it go straight to you? Good luck with everything...... We might see you in Melbourne as we want to go out before November this year :-)))

We didn't use an agent so we got the email direct from our CO. They also update your immi account to finalised - Granted. If you're using an agent I think they email the outcome to your agent for them to forward on to you but if you have assess to your immi account you could check yourself.

Could well see you in Melbourne, we plan to be there by sept, going to book flights this weekend just not sure weather to have a stopover somewhere or do the journey in one, contemplating what is best when flying with a 1 year old..

  2. Visa granted!!!! Can't believe it, woke up to that elusive grant email this morning! Think I've read it about 5 times already.

can book flights now so we should be in Melbourne by September.

Monk, I think I might be getting the first round in... What do you drink?

Good luck to all those still waiting, don't lose heart, our grant came 1 day before we hit the 3 month mark!

  3. He will only be issued with his discharge papers once he has left the army and as for the military police checks they won't release anything. Everything he needs should be in his discharge papers.

What visa is it that he is applying for?

  4. Morning gang , we haven't heard a friggin thing yet !!!!!!!!!!!! We applied on the 28th of April , front loaded our meds and police checks and that's it , so like the rest of you we awake every morning and check our emails . Looking at other peoples timelines it looks like we should hear something soon but that could just be wishful thinking. The waiting is really driving my wife mental , we feel our life is in limbo and cant make any real firm plans , still the world cup is still on so that's something to take my mind off of the waiting !!!

Good luck guys , it really does help knowing others are in the same boat as us , oh Alonsd we are also heading to Melbourne ----- first one there buys the beers !!!!!

Monk, I'll drink to that! When do plan on moving to Melbourne (if your visa comes through this week say)? We were hoping to move this Sept time, visa permitting.

I know what you mean with the process driving you mental. When we woke up to an email from our CO yesterday we were so excited thinking our grant had arrived , only to have our hopes smashed when we read it and he was requesting another document...

anyway the wait continues, think a bit of world cup therapy is needed to keep my mind off it.

Predictions for the game? Germany 2-1 winners for me.

  5. Hi all, how's the April group going? Anyone got lucky and been put out of their misery with a visa grant email? We were asked to provide further information again today... One of the documents we uploaded was corrupt and they could not view the information so had to send it through again. Hopefully it won't delay us too much.

Well lets hope we who are left waiting hear something this week... Good luck all!

  6. Cheers mate, appreciate it. 11 weeks! lets hope it's your time soon.D

Our CO got back to us this morning to say that they have processed our application but the File providing evidence for overseas work experience was corrupt and that we would have to resend it. He mentioned nothing about the medicals but when I checked my immi account to view the work experience file I noticed that the medical part had changed to "no medical information is requested for this individual".

Anyway I have now resent the information they requested via email and Bcc'ed myself to check that it was working fine and that the attachments work!

Fingers crossed we hear something in the next few days...!!

  7. yeah its additional to the PCC. There are plenty of people who don't do it and are never asked and it is lengthy, thats why my advise would be to do it if you can, because if you don't and you are then asked for it, it can take a while to gather all your information causing further delays to your application.

  8. This is from the email the CO sent me. Form 80 is a bit of a pain but not everyone gets asked to do it. My advise would be to do it though, we never and was then asked to do so...

    Form 80

All applicants over 16 years of age are requested to complete and return a Form 80 Personalparticulars for assessment including character assessment, which is available on our websiteat http://www.immi.gov.au/myvisa/form80.

Please note that this form is required regardless of whether or not a copy has been previouslyprovided.

    Evidence of Character

In order to be granted a visa for entry to Australia you must meet the character test. Bothapplicants must provide a police clearance certificate from each country where they havelived for a total of 12 months or more in the last 10 years, these 12 months are calculatedcumulatively, not consecutively.

  9. Hi Shelly,

yeah, we did our medicals pre-lodgement as we were informed that this could make the process quicker!! Still nothing different showing on either the eMedical or Immiaccount. I gave our HAP ID numbers in the visa application form and guessed this would register somewhere. I'm sure they have connected the two but ones imagination can't help worrying! This is the thing though I find difficulty in finding any official info that's helpful. Thank heavens for forums, at least there's some support.

has anyone else front loaded their medicals and experienced similar?

    Hi DavidsuperNurse,

I'm in a similar position, had medicals 2 Feb and applied for the visa 18 Apr. when I go on to the emedical site I can't see anything and on my immi account it states that medical requirements for this individual have not yet been determined. It also says that medical documents are recommended in the upload documents section. This is the same for my wife and son also.

I do have a CO who requested extra documentation (form 80 and discharge documents) but not medicals. This would leave me to believe that they can see them but I did email my CO last week to confirm that, as we have been waiting 11 weeks now.

When (if) I get confirmation they can see my medical documents I will let you know.

  10. Hi my daughter and her partner, have applied for the subclass 309/100 partner visa this year in April. My daughter is the australian. Her partner has signed off the army but cannot officially leave till feb 2015. He would be allowed early release if he could show that he has a visa granted. The co has requested discharge papers but he doesnt have them yet and wont till february. The dilemma is army wont allow early release until they see a visa, co wont allow visa until has discharge papers and a military police check, is there any way around this? Was hoping they would be here at xmas. Hope someone can advise something. Thanks guys :-)

I have just done exactly the same thing. What he needs is a letter from his Commanding Officer stating his willingness to discharge, this should include the fact that he has signed off and the date that he is due to leave. He will also need a testimony from his Commanding Officer, this is to prove that he is of good character .i.e not under any form of military disciplinary investigation.

they will need to be signed by his CO and must have his contact details on.

    hope that helps.

  11. Anyone else waking up and the first thing they do is check your emails excitedly, hoping and praying that the elusive grant email is sitting there waiting for them?

It is 10 weeks now for us and it's becoming a bit of an addictive routine! The waiting is so frustrating!!!

  12. I would like to think that was true but we have been waiting 10 weeks now for our visa and still nothing. We do have a CO though, they requested form 80 and proof of my willingness to discharge from the military so that May have delayed things. People have had their visas granted in 5 weeks and had no contact with a CO. I think it just depends on the team you get and how much information you provide upfront.

Good do luck with it though and hope you get your visa soon.

  13. We got our visa grant today!!! Email this morning from our agent, then a personal call from our agent George to congratulate us all the way from Sydney. We are so thrilled, it's like winning the lottery!! Good luck to all those waiting.

Congratulations!! The long wait is over and the planning can now start.

8 weeks for us since submitting application, hopefully we will get ours next week...

  14. For proof of discharge is the four pages with id card hologram sufficient?

I'm still currently serving, so for me I had to provide a "statement of willingness to discharge", which was a letter from the CO confirming that I had signed off and a JPA print screen. I also needed a testimony from the CO to confirm that I was not under any form of military disciplinary action (basically a character reference).

If you have already been discharged I would imagine that it is your testimony, discharge papers and your reports.

  15. Lizzywills,

glad to hear that you have your CO now, it good to see things moving forward, but asking for all those documents again... that doesn't sound too good! Have you checked your immi account to make sure your agent has uploaded them all?

when our CO contacted us it was only to request the documents that we hadn't already uploaded, form 80 and proof of willingness to discharge from the military.

Anyway another week down which can only mean one thing... another week closer to our visa grant!!!

  16. We've received our grant last friday! What a relief!

We had uploaded all our documents included PCC and medicals at the time we lodged, and I think it was the best method!

Wish you all the best for your future grant!

Congratulations, i think you're the first of the April gang! Fingers crossed more will start to follow now...

  17. Hi guys,

from reading previous forums i would imagine that most of us have COs now, the only people who would have had contact from them though are the are the people who needed to upload further documentation, like myself! On that note anyone who has not uploaded a form 80, DO IT!!! I decided not to and was asked for it and it is a lengthy document. Also got asked for proof of military discharge which took time.

hopefully in the next few weeks we will all start to get those much anticipated grant emails!!!!

    good look to you all...

  18. Thanks! Our agent hasn't advised we have a CO yet, apparently tho the CO's have 2 weeks to let you know they have started on your case, so we could have one...just not know yet. We also sent through Form 80 to our agent this morning. So it's just medicals now. Good luck to you too Alonsd (ps you are only down the road in St Helens - we're in Warrington LOL! This forum is a small world...!!)

Yeah small old world, we actually live in Newton-Le-Willows so even closer! Are you having your medicals at Bridgewater hospital Manchester? We had ours there and they were very good.

We also got our CO this morning Brisbane team 33. They asked for a form 80 which we hadn't done so got that to look forward to this weekend. Looks like things could be moving forward for all the April bunch now!!

  19. We submitted our application 10 April. Specialist report currently being drafted for existing medical condition - booking medicals in the next week or so. Good luck everyone!

Hope all goes well with your medicals. Have you had any contact from a CO yet? it's 4 weeks tomorrow for us and still no contact but we have only just uploaded our PPC today. Hopefully thats all documentation complete now...

  20. I recently received an invitation from SkillSelect to apply for my 189 visa. However when I log onto ImmiAccount there is not 189 visa available on the list. The 186, 187 and 188 are there. Has anyone applied for a 189 recently?

There is a visa finder link on the ImmiAccount page which does show the 189 visa but it doesn't link back to the list for the application. Anyone have an explanation for this - Maybe a glitch on the webpage?

the same thing happened to me, you need to wait around 48 hours and then it will get pre loaded onto your ImmiAccount. Don't worry it will be there !
