  1. Anyone have an update from the Sunshine Coast?

    Applied 4th May 2018

    test 8th May 2019

    waiting approval

just sent off for my second foi and a month ago I had a call from the CO after complaining on the global feedback. He said that he approves 400 a week and that he’s in April right now so I’ll be coming up soon. He said keep checking my mailbox so I’ve been doing it daily for over a month now 😅

i said that it was BS that regional areas get longer approvals yet there’s so many people in major cities getting same day approvals and there’s many applicants from 2019 getting their citizenship within a few months. This process is utter BS

Wow that's just arrrgg! True with so many people applying who knows how many files one particular case officer handles a day. 😔

I got a call today from the case officer nd he was just calling to reassure me I’m on the last stages so keep checking my mailbox.... he said he does 400 a week

Does being from a Regional areas means it takes a little bit longer then those in the big cities? Especially if you have all your papers, are documented and there shouldn't be anything hindering ones approval 😔

Yes it does as it’s usually done at a Centrelink by human services and they send it to the case officers at home affairs. If you are in cities you will have your test at an immigration office which should be interviewed by an actual case officer. Depending on your checks you are most likely to get same day approval. Whereas anyone from regional areas getting interviewed by human services will not be same day approval as they are nothing to do with immigration. It could take months for case officers to even open back up your file again. Which sucks...

No! No approval yet still waiting. Are you from the Sunny coast as well.

    cheers

Yeah, I applied 4th May 2018 and had my test 8th May 2019 and still no approval. I’m actually getting pissed off seeing people elsewhere getting ceremonies after applying in 2019! It’s so unfair because we are regional...

    Hi,

We did our test at the same place as you on the 24th April.

We were told to call Home Affairs after 6wks if we hadn't received our approval letter.

Will be interesting to see how we both get on. We may get the same ceremony date 😀

Have you got your approval yet?

Sunshine coast is so slow! I applied 5/1/2018. test on 9/1/2019 still waiting for approval and I know people on the coast that applied end of 2017 and still no approvals....

Any approval yet? This is a joke for the Sunshine Coast when there’s people applying in 2019, getting test and approval! Wtf? Yet up here we get left in the dark!

Ah awesome! I called the local council a few months back and they said that they said they have a ceremony in May (doubt we will make that one), July (hopefully that one so I can get HECS before uni), September and November. I really hope we get an approval soon! He told me because he works for human services he can only send off the info I gave him and my test results. He didn’t say about 6 weeks but he did say leave it a few days before you try and contact them. Good luck!!!

    hi guys!

Here is my timeline and I’m just wondering what are other Sunshine Coast timelines like? Because we do the test at Centrelink with the department of human services, they collect the info and test you and then send it to home affairs.

my question is, because we do the test at Centrelink does it mean we get a slower approval than others who get tested at an immigration office? Can other Sunshine Coast residents share their timelines for me please?

    Thank you

  9. Hi

I'm in a very similar situation to this and was wondering how did you get along going back to the UK?

I want my family to support me but I dont want my partner to miss out on his child and if I change my mind when I am back in england, I wont be able to come back as I'm only on 820. I'm terrified to take a father figure away from my child..

  10. The medical can be extended up to 6 months? see I did my medical and police checks 3 months before the application too. I'm aware that I wont have to do another english one which is awesome because they messed me about and said they sent me 5. Took them 3 months to send me one! and the day I actually posted my application I went home to find the stupid english police check hanging out my letter box. GRR It is good to see a few more in the same boat. I've nearly finished the form 80 but there are a couple of primary schools I dont remember when I was like 5-6 years old so I may just keep it to one primary school. Risky but most of it is right... as for europe... I'm 24 and since I was 14 I've figured 22 countries... but not the dates. NO IDEA! so i'm pretty stressed at the moment..

Also can you tell me If I have to put all the hostels in the gap where I was travelling for 10 months? because I keep reading it over and thats what I seem to be getting confused with....

  11. This is what we are confused about because it says from department of immigration but doesnt say auto email. I have had BVB visa's before and know what the auto replies look like. This ones different :S

  12. I applied 2nd may 2014 and a few days ago I got contacted by the CO saying all they need is the form 80. I already did my medical and police checks last feb so I only got about a week to figure this form out. IT IS HORRIBLE! but hopefully if I can send it back to them in time I wont have to do another medical.

Also can anyone let me know how they are getting on with the form 80 or how they did?

  13. I know this soudns bad but... should I just say i stayed at the same primary school? I am completely unsure of the schools i went to over 2 years and i spent most my primary school years in the one I wrote down.. Would they definitely check?

  14. the stat decs are good but 20 photos annoys them. They told me 5-10 photo's. Keep your joint grocery bills and print your phone bills and highlight each others names, messages and emails.

Print off the defacto application and go through it. Also type in the guidelines on google for what you need. Start using your joint account and save on your seperate accounts. Put $50 each in a week and keep that for groceries.

If you havent been together for more than 12 months register your relationship with nsw. Thats all i'm saying for now but I highly recommend you do some research on what you need. It took my partner and I at least 3 months to get everything together but we have joint everything, from lease - bills.

And remember don't provide too much information as it will annoy your CO.

Have a nice day :) good luck!

  15. ooo and i forgot..

I've traveled all around Europe with no stamps in my passport... How the hell do we remember??

    Support will be greatly appreciated.

    Hate stress :(

  16. This is killing me..

Lodged my defacto (subclass 820) application last may and I have been contacted by the CO a couple of days ago saying all i need is form 80..

he said, Pay particular attention to Questions 21 to 26. It is essential that every period of time is accounted for, with no gaps in the timeline of your residence, employment and education histories

I've been to around 13 different schools. Not even my mother remembers them as she was not very well when I was a child.

Also where it says Full name of course or description of research/Thesis and supervisor details what should I write for High school? (UK high school)

For college I wrote my national diploma but for high school and primary school??

employment history is fine but address history... they want the hostels and hotels of travelling between addresses???? is that right?

Is there a way that anyone can find out all this history?

    Please help :(

  17. I have the same problem. I have my uk licence and on the 1st June started my permanent visa. I read that in nsw you have 12 weeks to apply for a nsw drivers licence, but do you need your papers or just your card?

I don't think I have my papers?? I doubt my mother in the uk has it??

any help would be appreciated :)

  18. Its not even worth worrying about when your paying that much $4750 or $4800 who cares lol.

Oops I meant it was $4575. And I care! I'm not sure about a lot of people but me and my partner really struggled to make that money. We have bills to pay and a week before I lodged my application I lost my job. All is good now but it still put a huge hole in the pocket!

  19. Might as well stay in England? Whys that's Rebecca?!

    It was a light joke.

I lived in Adelaide before with my partners family and all I had was bad luck there. I just don't like that city. It was winter too but each to their own..
