  1. The legislation relating to eligibility for a Direct Entry 186 states : "the applicant has been employed in the occupation for at least 3 years on a full-time basis and at the level of skill required for the occupation". My reading of that is that the experience would be taken from the ACS Skill Level met date.

You should consult a good RMA before you go any further. A brief consultation with an experienced agent won't cost nearly as much as the $3520 you'll lose if you apply for a 186 without meeting the 3 years experience requirement.

G'day mate! Sorry to say that you were wrong. The fact that I'm a PR now proved my points below:

Years of experience: all the years you have spent on your occupation

Years which are qualify for points (only if you need points!): all the years after your skill level met date.

Personally, I think Australia Government is pretty transparent on the required information for each VISA class. MA is just a waste of money if you are able to crawl through all the publicly published documents of the Government (I must admit that it's not easy though, lots of documents spread amongst different Government department websites and locations...). And if you are going to allow some people/organisations to be the middle-men (MA) of probably one of the biggest decisions in your life, make sure you choose the right one.

    Cheers!

  2. Well, I've just logged in to my ImmiAccount after a week. To my surprise, the status changed to "Finalised" just today, and "Granted" status for each applicant!

I haven't received the grant letter emails though, but guess I'll receive them soon :biglaugh:, below is my full time-line:

ENS 186 Direct Entry (just briefly here in Australia on 457 Visa)

    Nomination: 14/05

    Application: 24/05

    Nomination approval: 12/08

CO asked for Medical: 24/09, 13/10 Medical sent

    VISA granted: 17/10

    Team 5 VIC

    Cheers

  3. My application was lodged on 24/05

CO asked for medical in 24/09. I didn't have the medical referral letters until 26/09 due to some issues with the system. Had to email the department for that.

Just did my medicals yesterday. Hopefully I'll hear some good news in the next 2 weeks.

    Hi guys

for me today is week 16!!!

    My TIMELINE:

Visa Type: ENS 186 Direct Stream

    Nomination lodged: 23/05/2014

Visa application: 18/06/2014 ( with MA)

    Nomination Granted: 5/9/2014

22/9/14: CO ask for more information

    25/9/14: Medical check

30/09/14: CO received the medical result

Apparently my CO is in Team 4 Victoria.

    All the docs are in.

i m hoping to hear something this week

  4. Yes this is something getting people frustrated...seems team 05 has their own priority so someone got the pr within 2 months while someone waited for 4 months but nothing happened. to some extent this is unfair but it seems there's no way to change their manner.

My applications were both lodged on May 26. It has been 4 months today. Nomination is still not yet approved. My agent said that he would let me know once he is contacted by the CO and he would check my nomination status online at times.

Strange thing is that some people got their PR approved together with the nomination. But for your case, as you said, nomination was approved 2 months ago but you haven't heard from them since then, which is strange.

Please keep trying to contact the department and let us know the progress. FYI, team 05 usually replies email on the next day if they want to reply the email. If you wait for longer than 3 days usually they wouldn't reply your email.

    Hi kmchu,

My company lodged my nomination for me, no MA, then I did my application myself a week later. So I'm not surprise when my nomination approval came first.

I actually try to keep myself to think that I'll probably need to wait for 6 months, so that I would be able to go through the waiting period. It helps a little ;)

  5. Dropped team 5 an email (actually 2) regarding the problem with health link not available. Haven't received any reply in 2 days.

Looks like they have their own way to prioritize cases and act accordingly. My case sure is not in the upper part of that list... How they do that is a "secret"

My nomination was approved in less than 2 months. I'm coming close to the 4 month mark on my Visa application. Waiting for reply on the health link.

I guessed the problem was because I input the old HAP ID I've got when I submitted my application. After the that I couldn't pre-arrange health examinations nor have the health link in my immiaccount now.

    --------

Edited: while writing this, I received an email from NSW processing center with the new HAP ID in it. Always get good news when I tried to share my experience here ;)

  6. Got something new today.

Just received an email from CO (Team 5, VIC) requesting health examinations. Then I tried to log in to my Application, couldn't see any "Organise your Health Examinations" link as mentioned in the requests. Then I replied to her email, stating that I couldn't find the links. Then I received an automation reply to my reply (sorry for confusing you :D) from Team 5, which had a section saying that Current Issues-HAP LINK and it said that if "Organise your Health Examinations" links were not displayed then I need to drop an email to them with subject line saying that “Organise your health link is not available”,

Should I send them another email according to the guidance in their automation email?

Any advises would be really appreciate

  7. My application went in on 22/05.

Nomination was approved on 12/08. Haven't heard anything new since then.

Personally I think they prefer application without dependents. I included my wife and my toddler in my application.

Does anyone with recent approval mind sharing if any dependents were included in their application? Thanks guys!

  8. I was the same people were being granted there's before mine which was submitted weeks before there own, think it's down to which centre the application goes to mine was vic and found they were VERY slow.. Good luck

To correct, my nomination went in on 14/05 not 12/05, :P

Nomination was approved on 12/08. Today is 12/09, currently in my 5th week after nomination approval... No updates so far.

Anyway, I'm keeping myself busy with lots of works so the waiting time is passing by less painful to me ;)

  9. My nomination went in on 12/05

My visa went in 10 days later, 22/05

I don't know which center is processing my visa, as the last update date on my application is still the date I submitted it. My nomination approval email was sent out by VIC.

I know applications have different time lines. But it's a little frustrated knowing that they process some later applications quicker. We are all "buying" their processing service at the same price, right?

  10. Hey there,

I just lodged my application for 186 Direct Entry on 23/05/2014. So far I have uploaded the following list of documents:

    All applicants:

    - Passport

    - Birth certificates

All applicants over 16 (the above plus the following):

    - Police reports (for all countries I had spent more than 12 months in since I got 16 years of age, luckily only 1 country :D)

    - Form 80

    - Form 1221

    My children under 18:

    - Form 1229

    Me:

    - Skill assessment

    - Qualifications

    - IELTs result

    - Resume

    - Lots of work references: letters of reference/recommendation, bank records as proof of previous employment

    - Current Australian Employment contract

    - Current Australian Bank statement as proof of address

All documents were colored scanned and/or certified by a 3rd party (try any police office, certify documents there were pretty easy and straight forward, and free!)

I haven't done medical checks yet, will need to do it soon.

    Still have months to wait...

    Cheers,

  11. Hi guys,

I've been wondering about this as I heard many different information.

I've just been in the country for 3 months and applied for 186 VISA under Direct Entry stream. Do I need to get an Australian Police clearance record? (I have submitted police records from my original country). Does anybody have experience about this?

I really appreciate any helps. Thank you very much!

  12. My Application just went in last week.

14/05/2014: Nomination by Employer - Temporary residence transition, since I haven't been in the country for 2 years, need to make correction with DIBP

22/05/2014: Notification from DIBP confirming that stream changed from Temporary residence transition to Direct Entry

    23/05/2014: VISA application went in

28/05/2014: upload all papers and forms

now start the waiting... I haven't done any medical yet.

    :cute:

  13. Thanks blossom79.

I have a closer look at the ACS Guidelines, there's a sentence that define what is "relevant work experience"

The term “Relevant work experience” means work experience which is closely related to the nominated

occupation (ANZSCO) and performed at a professional ICT level

And according to the Suitability Criteria, I would need 5 years of relevant work experience in order to get a suitable result. I might be safe to think that relevant work experience is all the years I have spent on my professional. It is different from the "skilled employment" which would be eligible for skilled migration points test.

    from ACS guidelines:

skilled employment: all relevant work experience after skill level requirement met date
  14. I have received my ACS Skill Assessment, and it was suitable

I'm not sure if I'm good to head on with a 186 VISA, attach is the result letter from ACS:

    acs-skills.jpg

The reason: although ACS thinks that my skills were suitable, only the employment after May 2013 (after 5 years of experience) is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level...

Although the 186 VISA said nothing about the skilled level met date except a requirement for 3 year experience, I'm not sure if DIBP will consider all my years of experience, or just the period after ACS's skilled level date.

I'm really appreciate if anyone can help. I don't want to gamble the VISA fee... Thank you very much!

  15. Hi,

I've just been working in Australia for some months (since January) on a 457 in ICT. My employer is willing to sponsor me on a PR Visa, so I'm thinking of applying for a 186 VISA Direct Entry. This way I won't have to wait for another 2 years.

I have read all the information on DIBP website about 186 Direct Entry visa. It looks like I meet all the requirements. Still I'm being confused about the newly introduced Skill Level Met Date with the 3 year experience requirement from DIBP.

    Here's a screenshot from DIBP's website:

    skill-requirement.png

I had an Advanced Diploma in Jan 2008. I have been working continuously since April 2008 till now, through 3 different employers (including the current one). I lodged an ACS skill assessment last week and hopefully will get a positive result. In total, I'll have roughly more than 5 years of experience.

If 3 years of relevant work experience mentioned by DIBP is calculated from the Skill Level Met Date then I'm not eligible anymore... Can anybody shred some lights on this? Thank you very much.
