Olympic park is going to pick up in the next decade (a lot of residential and commercial zoning on the way) plus a tram line. But for the moment I agree with the other posters, it wouldn't be very lively.

It's not normal for it to be this bad. We do get storms and they can be bad, but this one that went through Kurnell was really something else. Hopefully no one has been killed or injured.
Pymble is very leafy which would add to it as well. I notice that yesterdays storm brushed most of northern/north western Sydney. Amazing the difference in what Kurnell experienced compared to say, Palm Beach.

Why does Australia do it so much better? Due to the UKs proximity to Europe I'm surprised generally at lack of variety and service. Does it also come down to consumer demand? The coffee in the UK is like what you found in Australia 20 years ago. The pub culture is great but when you have work mates in London raving about the quality of coffee at starbuck's one starts to wonder.

The locals seem like they have a chip on their shoulder and the outer suburbs are awful. Give me the northern suburbs of Sydney any-day.

Not sure if Foxtel differs from state to state.
Fox Sports show all premier league games live and about 3 La Liga games a week
UCL is shared between SBS (free to air) and ESPN
The Championship is on Setanta (was last season anyway)
Bundesliga is on Sentanta
Channel 10 (free to air) broadcasts F1
There is a motorsport channel on Foxtel called Speed
Cant remember where the FA cup is shown however the FA cup final is always on SBS

Anti-siphoning laws mean that free to air networks get first dibs on the World Cup and FA Cup Final. 'Soccer' might not be a big deal in Cairns but its grown significantly sine 2005. 10,000 Australians are going to Brazil, that's more than what England is taking!

How funny!
Orange, NSW
in New South Wales

Keep in mind that Orange is proper four season climate with often a few snowfalls each year. The winter minimums are a couple of degrees colder than London and the July maximum is 8-9c
