it is impossible

In 7 years of being here we (family of four) havent earnt over $70k in any year and manage quite fine BUT we only have a very small mortgage going out each week. We eat out, have days out and holidays, own 3 cars, 2 motorbikes and a boat so it is possible, you would just need to pick your areas carefully.
If you do have a big rent bill and have to pay school fee's it could prove tricky.
Cal x
that sounds great, can you pls give me some idea how to make it?
earn 70k. pay much less tax for a family of 4 when compare with single Iin my country, is it the same in Australia?

Don't forget all the other little things that will soon add up: phone, internet, insurances, kids out of school activities etc.
i was living in Australia when i was a teenager , no idea about family expense at that time, is that possible to list out item and amount, eg.electricity bill,water....
thx in advance for your help.

Im not sure to be honest, I hear the Average wage mentioned as being 80,000 but a lot of people are on nothing like that much, then you hear of people on loads.
I earned 32,000 in the UK, (6,000 above average I think) and 75,000 here.. I feel I am in the same situation in life, no better off or worse off but 75,000 is supposed to be below average.
single or with family?
it seems single income does not work in Australia .
-
I earn 75,000 and bring back 1100 a week
let's assume 70k after tax =1000per wk.
not sure what is the avg wages in Australia . 70k is a or low? i. earn more than that in my country but the tax rate is much lower.
not sure if can earn the same in Australia.
so it seems single income not work there?
so, most of the Australian make lots more than 70k?
-
1000 per wk is 52k per yr, so if this is the after tax money, how much would be before tax?

The problem I have with this is that AQUIS will invoice Crown for the fees. If they decided to delve a little further into your container then the costs are going to go up. This is not necessarily so and as such I can't stomach a fixed fee for something that could be as little as a couple of hundred AUD, where we have been charged £1000 sterling.
My AQUIS fees are going to be a bit over the norm because I have a car and a 40ft container but others with less have said their aquis was around $3-500 AUD, even if mine came out at $1000 AUD then its still £550 or so and not £1000.
I want transparency in this situation.
for the 20 ft i got the quote is aud 550 -650
40ft aud 750-850
some friends pay 550 for 20ft
200 for 76 boxes
not sure mine

Moving back to the UK with the end of March.
We have various items to get rid off - almost all household, as we left our previous furnishing back in the UK before coming to Australia.
We have some furniture and appliances looking almost brand new and we'd rather sell rather than pay for shipment back to Norfolk.
So if you are uncertain of how long you might stay down under especially after witnessing Oz prices we would be happy to negotiate in bulk quantities (I wish we had done it before we spent a small fortune on all these stuff).
If interested please pm
Thank you for taking time to read it.
