  1. :cool::cool:Hi all,

    AOS thing has been sorted out today a step closer to final step. Money $14000 has been deposited in common wealth bank of australia.

    Hello,

    Congratulations, you are one step closer to getting the visa. Do you mind if I would ask a question regarding the AOS experience? How did you make an appointment with the centerlink? Do you need to call them in advance or just go to any centerlink and give them your documentations? And how long did it take from that first appointment to receive decision from centerlink? After that, did centerlink or Immigration ask you to make the deposit?

    Sorry for many questions. Apparently I was asked to prepare AOS before a CO allocated, so i'm not sure if AOS is approved, do I pay the bond right away or do I wait after the CO allocated? Anyone advise would be really appreciated. Thank you.

  2. I would be sending an enquiry email to the Parents Visa Centre a year post lodgment to ask them to confirm they still want you to arrange medicals, police clearances, etc.

    Processing times have been slipping towards 18 months of late, so I'd be maintaining a watching brief on parent visa processing times. The last thing most will want is a short window to enter Australia to validate their visas.

    Best regards.

    Dear Alan, I will definitely contact the Parent Visa Centre as you suggest. Apparently I have sent you a messege regarding my case. If you have time please help me to have a look at it and see if we still stand any chance to get the 143 visa.

    Thank you very much and wish you a Happy New Year!!!

  3. Happy New Year everyone!!!

    I have a question, we received the acknowledgement letter in April 2013 for contributory parent visa, and was asked to commence prepare police check 10 months after, health certificate and assurance of support 12 months after, ie before a CO is allocated. Is it the new process?

    I know with applications 2 years ago the health and assurance of support usually asked to prepare after a CO is allocated. That would make more sense wouldn't it? I mean what happen if you prepare everything and they just decline your visa?

    Dear all,

    I am currently applying the Contributory Parents Visa for my mother. I am an Australian citizen but living and working overseas with my husband. We own a house in Australia and pay income tax here as well. We have the intention of returning to Australia for good by end of next year ( about the time a CO will be allocated to the case). So I am wondering since I have been living overseas for more than 3 years, do I or do I not meet the settled or usually resident requirement? Or since I am a citizen these requirements do not apply to my case?

    About the Assurance of Support, the Immigration mentioned in the acknowledgement letter that we need to start the process of Assurance of Support in April 2014. I called Centre Link twice and spoke to two different officers. The answers I received from them are not the same. One said the assurer need to make an appointment in advance with Centre Link for an interview and then sign the AOS form in front of a Centre Link officer. The other said there is no need to make an appointment, just drop by Centre Link and give them the documentations. They then will forward our docs to the responsible department and will contact us via telephone for interview. Anyone with recent experiences with Assurance of Support process please give me some insight
    :)

    Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you
